Texas Longhorns.

I'm hoping for an Alabama - Texas game. I love Texas football, and I like Alabama. I think it would be a good matchup. I like Saban, and I almost became a fan when Major Applewhite went over there - not quite, though.

I think neither SEC team has a solid offense. I feel our defense matches up well with both. Ingram and Alabama's offense are going to be tough to go four quarters with, and we are going to have to fight till the end to keep them from running us into the ground. I know Julio Jones is a hell of a receiver, but I doubt that quarterback is talented enough to get the ball to him enough with a secondary like we have. If he isn't careful, we'll be making turnovers on interceptions.

Tim Tebow is obviously a running threat to be concerned about, but he has been so predictable this year and his passing ability is non-existent. They haven't been able to dominate like they did last year. I feel like their field goal kicker has been more of a scoring threat than Tebow.

They have alot of team speed, and we definitely need to match their pace. Also, Tebow is a leader, and in big games I expect to see him really shine. The wild card would be is if he suddenly starts putting the ball in the air successfully - we all know he can do it, he did last year.

Alabama just can't put the points up - if they do, I'll be impressed.

Then again, they say offense wins games, defense wins championships.... we'll see! I'm excited, either way!

well a few things could happen.

Alabama beats Florida in the SECCG.
Texas beats Nebraska in the Big 12 CG
Bama vs Texas in the NCG

Florida beats Alabama in the SECGC
Nebraska beats Texas in the Big 12 CG
Florida plays Georgia Tech in the NCG (assuming they win the ACC Championship Game)

Florida beats Bama in the SECCG
Texas beats Nebraska in the Big 12 CG
Florida plays Texas in the NCG

I don't think anyone could justify putting Cincy, TCU, or Boise State in the NCG, therefore if Bama or Florida lose, Nebraska upsets Texas, Georgia Tech would be the most likely candidate to be selected to play in the NC Game.

However, a lot can happen between now and championship week.

Texas still has to beat Texas A&M and then beat Nebraska in the Big 12 Championship game.

Bama still has to beat Auburn Friday afternoon, and then beat Florida in the SECCG.

Florida still has to beat Florida State this weekend and then beat Bama in the SECCG

the last 2 years have shown that plenty of upsets can still happen the final week of the season and on Championship Saturday.

however if it ends up being Texas vs Florida or Texas vs Bama, Texas won't stand a chance. The Big 12 defense just isn't up to par with the SEC. SEC boys are faster, and bigger.

Bama or Florida will win...probably not by a big margin, maybe 31-21 or 31-17.

Not to mention Colt McCoy hasn't played against a high caliber defense this year, and he's started very sluggish and slow against mediocre teams, as has the Texas offense. Sorry, but I just don't see Texas being able to hang against the SEC.

but whatever happens should be interesting.

As much as I hate to say it (big Tennessee fan), I think I see Florida winning it all again this year. I just think they are a better complete team than Bama. Don't get me wrong, the SEC Championship game is going to be a slugfest, I just think that Florida's defense is going to be the deciding factor. Bama's QB is going to get picked several times for the difference. Texas is really good this year too, but I don't see their offense or defense handling SEC speed. Sounds like a repeat of last year......

I would rather see Florida in the championship game than Bama. I think they would have a better chance. Bama has done a horrible job at scoring on offense, which is sad with how good their run game is. I can see both of those team's defenses playing great against Texas. But the offense is gonna have to score, and Bama just hasn't shown that they can.

I have many words to say about this, but im just gonna keep my mouth shut since I am probably the biggest Gator fan on this site. Knowing my luck I will say a bunch of stuff about the Gators and they will get stomped by bama in the championship game

Don't worry, I don't see either team getting stomped in the SEC championship game. It's either going to be really exciting or really boring. Either way, I bet they trade blow for blow.

yep, the Crimson Tide are gonna blast the Texas Fraudhorns outta the BCS Championship game, won't even be close. Texas barely got past Nebraska, and Bama's defense is eons better than Nebraska.

it'll be another SEC beatdown on the Big 12.

Cinci shouldve lost their game also. Pitts coaching staff pretty much blew their chances by going for 2? WTF? They shouldve never let cinci come back from such a deficit though.

The SECCG is what really surprised me. Didnt see that one coming.

Now to be a whiney bitch. The officiating in the NCAA this year was horrible. Texas game was pretty much decided by two bogus pass interference calls. Im just disappointed, because I dont believe the two best teams are playing each other for the title. I dont feel Texas is even the best team in their state. But, thats what people want to see. Two big name schools going head to head = more $$$$$.

WyattEarp

TCU got screwed...they shoulda jumped the fraudhorns to play Alabama.

Texas only put up 13 points on nebraska, and looked awful all night long, and got lucky at the last second, because of a kickoff out of bounds, and a stupid horsecollar tackle.

but you hit it on the spot, $$$$$$. until a playoff system is adopted, it'll never be perfect.

Texas hate everywhere!

Yeah, they came out flat, I think because they were focused too far ahead. Either way, a bad game is a bad game - any other team that was in the running that plays anyone worth a shit had a few.

Hopefully they get it together and play hard - they usually play flat late in the season, but pull it together for a good showing in a bowl game.

TCU got shafted lol. They along with Cincinatti and Boise would all beat Texas. I know some will laugh at me for saying that. Texas got lucky against Nebraska and barely beat Oklahoma with Bradford out of the game lol. Texas fans had better prepare and keep a box of tissues close by because it is gonna be a fucking beat down. Alabama 45 Texas 7

Circumstances unfortunately kept us from seeing a close game. Can't change that - I do feel bad for Colt McCoy, though. You know he is beating himself up over this.... especially after coming out so strong.

Nick Saban is classy, though. I'd rather be in this position with Alabama than any other team in the country.

Congratulations to Alabama. You deserve it.

I'm glad that Texas made the fourth quarter somewhat interesting for a minute and showed that we'll fight to the end. We showed alot of strength on defense and special teams and it was interesting to see Gilbert actually rally the team downfield with Shipley to score in the fourth quarter.

Yep. It was heart breaking to see him go out the way he did, especially when they called his father in there - thats when I knew he wasn't coming back. Still, he has brought so much to the program over his four years and I'm proud of that.

... he definitely had alot of reason to be emotional and he held it together... unlike Tebow ;)

I'm glad to see him giving it up to God at the end there and being a good sport and congratulating Alabama. Great guy.

Because USC turns a higher profit, win or lose. Larger viewing audience, larger fanbase due to a larger population, and a larger audience to by "Licensed Products". Money, my friend, money. Simply put, more shirts will sell if USC or Texas wins a National Title than if Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Ole Miss, etc. does. Their opinion influences the perceived "schedule difficulty", which directly affects rankings and bowl game bids.

I wouldn't say SEC teams don't have a large audience... there is a reason that SEC stadiums are so big.

Sure, there may be a larger population in the immediate vicinity but there are also more competing schools around USC and Texas.

I wasn't talking money at all...I was talking dominance and talent...I could care less if they sell toilet paper with the usc and texas logos on the and sell "a shit load", makes no difference to me if they're not winning national championships...SEC dominates all conferences on the field regardless of what they are putting in their pockets
