Basically I decided to see if anyone else on here had any gaming videos or thoughts on new video games.
Generally I make walkthroughs for new video games (major titles only)
I also like to Speedrun the Metroid Series. (This is by far my favorite platforming title)
I made this thread to see if anyone had any good runs or if anyone was excited about new releases.

This is my first run of Mecha Ridley from Metroid Zero Mission, he deals massive damage and I wasn't playing smart.

Just started Dragon Age Origins. The dialogue is pretty lengthy but the graphics are amazing and game play is an absolute blast.

I have a couple videos on my YouTube account of StepMania (an old video of something I can do way better on now) and some GRiD video.
I have a raw uncompressed video of another run in GRiD where I played a downhill midnight Touge run in the 350Z. Since the game was in Touge and not drift mode, you can't drift very easily but that didn't stop me. I spent the whole run drifting in a high difficulty level with all driver aids disabled and still won the race.
Here's 2 of the ones I already have uploaded and I'll go upload this other GRiD video later:

Another boss I ran, the sound gets choppy, every boss on Fusion is a bitch, especially the SA-X. But when I have a successful run video of that up. I'll post it.

I have a ISO of one of the KoF games on PS/X. Can't remember which one, 97 I think. I always play as the girls in most fighting games. Since I suck at fighting games, I can never get the moves right, and the girls tend to be quicker, I try to use their speed to win. That and I just like having female characters on screen, kinda like how my wallpapers are 99% girls.
I'm having a bitch of a time getting that other GRiD video loaded without the quality getting destroyed in the process. All I have is Windows Movie Maker. It always crashes and kills the quality anyhow when it doesn't crash (WMM is the only program I've ever have trouble with and I can't figure out why).

I have three different converters for three different types of files. But my Mobile Media Converter is by far the most competent.
Male/Female chars. No big deal, I'm fairly good with this cut hand. I guess I'm a absolute monster when not hurt.

360fag signing in.
Latley I've been playing Mass Effect 2, Dante's Inferno and Darksiders.
I beat BioShock 2 the day it was released.
Lots of good games were just released, I'm looking forward to Splinter Cell: Conviction and Halo: Reach.

It's actually pretty solid.
I prefer hack'n'slash games alot.
FPS bores the piss out of me now. Those are the games of the unskilled.
I like multi-genre based games.
Since a good 80 percent of the Xbox titles are FPS, it just lost its touch to me. I never really cared for the system but the 5-1 ratio it pulled on my PS3 just killed its overall appeal (5th one still works, I finally just decided to fix it on my own not send to microshaft).
DI is a game that's a bastard child, same with many other hack n slash free roamers to come along this QT.
Darksiders, Bayonetta, all hold elements of what made us love older titles in the series (See DMC, Final Fight, etc) while still providing newer fresher content and a more captivating storyline.
Now one of the people I work with said, Darksiders seems sacrilegious. Big deal, its a fucking game and if you let moral beliefs stand in front of a game, or let a game story line or content dictate your own actions. Then you shouldn't be playing games.
I mean, I'm a Arcade Fighter Wiz, do I go out trying to shoryuken people hell no.

Dee, it's okay. I mean, I'm glad I didn't pay jack shit for it, but I'm also glad I played it.
If you can rent it, or borrow it for a weekend, it's a great play-through for sure.

Bioshock didn't impress me enough to warrant me paying full price for BS2 (ha, BS) so I'll wait till it's $20 like I did with the first one or until Steam has it for $10. And I'll wait till the random Half-Price Steam Weekend sale on Mass Effect 2 a coupla years down the road when it's $10... like I did with the first. Dante's Inferno looks gay, Yahtzee destroyed Darksiders on Zero Punctuation so I'm definitely not getting that (didn't have to see that review though, looked horrible anyway).
Battlefield Bad Company is the only game I'm looking forward too right now (and I will reiterate, I hate MW2, i pray BC2 whoops its ass) I love FPS's but only on the PC. And I'm also looking forward to later this year, the Medal of Honor reboot. I'm hoping it's single player will be what MW2's should have been. I also still need to get DiRT2 for the PC. Ain't gots no money though. Man I'm hoping Advance gives me a check this week instead of waiting on the Direct Deposit to be set up.
Consoles for me exist solely to play JRPG's and Action Adventure games on. PS3 has only been useful for Assassin's Creed II. Thank god it's my roommate's and not mine. 360 has proven only useful so far for Tales of Vesperia and Assassin's Creed, but I do plan to play Blue Dragon on it eventually. Again, it's not mine, it's my roommates. PS2 on the other hand has proven extremely useful as our combined library is pretty nice and continually getting bigger. Again, almost entirely JRPG's.

Unchartered 2 on PS3.
White Knight Chronicles and the addition of good arcade style fighters.
The PS3 is looking more like it's older bretheren, getting a solid JRPG lineup, something the Xbox will struggle with.
Btw.
This is a classic and the best JRPG ever, IMHO (and one of my videos.)

360 I wouldn't say is struggling with the JRPG's. There's actually a really good selection I would say (not PS2 caliber but then again, nothing will probably have PS2 numbers anytime soon). In Japan yes that actually holds true but those Japanese guys ain't stupid either. They know how to make money so many PS3 exclusives get ported to 360 for the Western markets, particularly the US. And it's the other way around in some cases. Some 360 exclusives in the US see a PS3 release in Japan so they'll make more money (example, Tales of Vesperia, 360 only outside of Japan but there's a PS3 version in Japan).
Best JRPG so far that I've played, I can't call Chrono Trigger anymore cause it's kinda played out with me. I think I have to say Tales of the Abyss for PS2 with Tales of Vesperia for 360 right behind it. And well shit, Tales of Symphonia for GameCube right behind that. Betcha couldn't tell I was a Tales fan, huh? And behind them I think I'd put Ar Tonelico and Mana Khemia. Fuck Ar Tonelico 2 though. Man I hate the characters in that game, especially the main character.
Actually It's really close with Abyss and Vesperia. Vesperia obviously had the better graphics as well as better story and characters (but not by much) but they over complicated the battle system and the 360 controller's D-Pad is fuckin retarded which made shit even worse. It's like the D-Pad only takes your input as a suggestion. Tales of the Abyss was the predecessor on an older console so of course the graphics weren't as good. I'd say the main character, Luke, wasn't as likable at first or even overall but he wasn't bad. He was actually quite funny and ended up a stand up person. Most of the other characters were pretty likable as well, especially Jade. He was fuckin hilarious. I think overall though, Vesperia had the better cast. Yuri was just awesome plus the main girl was so much cuter (which I have an affinity for cute characters). Their stories are close with Vesperia just edging out Abyss. But what makes the Abyss the winner is simply, it was more fun to actually play. The battle system was just about perfect. I got in fights on purpose just to fight. Wasn't even trying to get exp.
Wow, that was longer than I intended.

I will stand by Xenogears having a better plot than most recent JRPGS.
Tales was a good series but I prefer Star Ocean over Tales.
Then I'm just pressed in different directions for the others.
Tales got boring to me.
Suikoden 1&2 are the only real Suikodens too me as well. Number 2 being ABSOLUTELY amazing.

I've only played one Star Ocean and that was Till the End of Time which was, well, crap. Not the worst by a long shot but so many things were done wrong that ruined it. First off, character design. They all looked messed up except like 2 characters. Battle System. I love real time battle systems as you can tell with the Tales games but crikey TTEOT was just horrid. And the voice acting, oh god the voice acting. If they had at least offered the Japanese, this would have been a non-issue but instead we are stuck with piss poor English. Now I don't hate on the English all the time cause the Tales games all had good English voice acting and even Ar Tonelico's was decent.
Seriously Till the End of Time would have been epic if it had decent voice acting (or a Japanese option), better character design, and a better battle system. Actually I can let the character design slide but the voice acting and battle system were inexcusable. I mean it had a great story and I was on the edge of my seat through most of it till the voice acting slid me back into the seat.
I've thought about Xenogears but remembering that it's the predecessor to Xenosaga makes me not want to play it. Another game(s) that could have been better. Character design was often weird looking but passable, battle system was not the worst (Ar Tonelico 2) but could have been SOOO much better (at least have more than ONE battle song). However what killed it was the cut scenes. TOO DAMN MANY AND TOO DAMN LONG. Seriously, when a game has to ask to save in the middle of a cutscene... TWICE, then it's too fucking long. I couldn't even get 2 hours into the second one. They made the battle system worse and I just couldn't handle another 35 hour long movie.

Xenogears and Xenosaga aren't made by the same people.
Monolithsoft made Xenosaga and it by actuality is the predecessor to Xenogears.
Xenogears isn't even claimed in the cannon due to how wrong Xenosaga come out.
Remember that. Xenogears and Xenosaga, two totally different concepts.

I didn't say they were directly related. Xenosaga is the spiritual successor to Xenogears hence why I didn't want to play it. And actually the creators ARE the same but not the staff per se. Here's the wikipedia entry for Xenosaga:
"The Xenosaga series serves as a spiritual successor to the game Xenogears, which was released in 1998 for the PlayStation by Square. The creator of both Xenogears and Xenosaga is Tetsuya Takahashi, who left Squaresoft in 1998 along with Hirohide Sugiura. Using funds from Namco, they started Monolith Soft and the Xenosaga project."
That's why. Same creators often lead to similar products so I shyed away from it.
Actually go down to the Development part of the Wikipedia article. It explains the relationship.

Never really read into it.
Xenosaga is trash.
Xenogears isn't.
The reason they left square is because they got short funded due to their project being released around the same time as FF7.
The games aren't very similiar. Play it, you'll see what I mean.
Xenogear is better than any Tales game or most other realtime battle based RPGS.

I doubt I would like it more than the Tales games for a couple of reasons. 1. I just got to where the whole future sci-fi mecha deal just doesn't pop with me much anymore. That might explain why I never finished Gundam 00 (though I can still watch 08th MS Team over and over). 2. Watching that video of a battle, it doesn't look very fun to me.
The only turn based battle system I've ever truly enjoyed is the GUST Card Turn System, the best example of which is Mana Khemia. I'd post a video of it but I can't find any that display the chain attacks or any other aspects of the system aside from Finishing Bursts (which are fuckin epic though) and just regular special moves. I watched a video of Mana Khemia 2 though and it appears that it uses essentially the same system but the visual turn representation was changed from cards in a line to bubbles in a circle. My roommate has the game but neither of us have played it yet. I kinda want my own copy though since I wanted it before he knew of its existence.
Yahtzee on Zero Punctuation
YES!!! I love watching his reviews!
