View Full Version : Lack of respect, and the younger generation...

Alright, this is more of a rant, so here it goes, because I'm fucking sick and tired of attitude problems from young people that have no appreciation or respect for someone else's property.

Scenario:

I'm down at the rice lot (what I've always called it) 9th and Commerce, just stopped in on Saturday night to say Hey to some friends and talk for a few minutes, when this Integra (white) squeezes up next to my car (ok, I'm fine with that, the driver was careful not to just swing in there, and was also careful on the way that he parked). He and his passengers get out, and one of them proceeds to lean (well, not just a lean, but full body weight) onto my car. I'm overly sensitive about this, because there is no one around here that I trust to fix a problem with my car around here, and it has ZERO dents/dings in it in the first place. After about a minute or so of this girl rubbing her ass against my car (with jeans on, no less), and me worrying about the tabs scratching the shit out of my car, I walk over and say, "Hey, would you mind not leaning on my car?", and turn to walk away. A friend of mine says a few minutes later, "Hey man, she called you a dick when you said that..."

Fucking seriously? She doesn't know what "dick" means, and if she would have liked to have seen my take on it, I could have had a fucking nice talk with her that she wouldn't have forgotten (and anyone else that wanted to get an attitude about the issue). I'm sorry, it's ONLY MY CAR THAT I TAKE PRIDE IN. IT'S ONLY MY CAR THAT I HAVE PUT ALOT OF TIME AND MONEY INTO. I MUST BE A REAL DICK, BECAUSE I WON'T LET SOME IDIOT GIRL PUT HER ASS-IN-CHEAP-MALL-JEANS ON MY "RIDE".

If anyone knows who these people were, I'd like to know, because I wasn't about to ruin my night down there by having "tough guy male friend" who was all of 5'4" attempt to get in my face because I insulted his idiot associate.

CLIFFS:

Brunette girl in white Integra, short...
Leans on my car.
Cunt needs to get off of it.
Calls me a dick to my back.
Fuck them, I'm MAAAAAD!

I am right there with you. People just don't respect other;s hard work like they used to.

Same has happened to me SEVERAL times... and I have the same reaction out of people as you did... "Why you gotta be such a dick?"

That's why when I go to a meet/show I am always near my car... or I will have someone watch my car while I am away. You didn't overreact though.

Im guessing it was your supra?
I wouldn't have let them park next to you. lol

Thanks guys - I knew that I wasn't overreacting, because I've seen people do that, and it's pretty funny to watch. The main problem that I have is that people just don't care/are lazy, and don't want to be told that they're making a mistake. I deal with alot of people in my job (young and old), and by far, the most defiant and disrespectful are the 16-20 year olds with attitude problems.

I almost felt like walking right up to her and leaning on her - that's how I handle problems, and it offends most people (when I'm blatantly obvious in my actions).

Pedro - yeah, it was my car. Next time I may just park away from everyone else, so that I don't have to worry about having some cunt smart off to me.

lol.. nice car. Thought that must have been you. First time I've seen you out. Not that I go out much, but it was cool to put a face to you finally. I pulled up in a black Integra with TypeR wing and Lip and some broze Rota Slips.

I hate the people who don't respect other people's nice stuff. It's happened to me, and now my wife finally sees what I go through because she owns a mint 2000 Integra GSR and working downtown for the school board now and it's already got dinged a few times.

I TOTALLY agree with people disrespecting cars! I was raised around muscle cars so my dad tought me at an early age to repect cars! When im at a show, and I have anything that would scratch a car(watch, lanyard, rivets on jeans, jacet zipper, or keys) I will alays protect with my hand or put it behind my back if possible. To say the least, I am prob one of the most careful people around cars! I had a EF civic a few years ago with a VERY straight body and cought some random person sitting on my fender. Those fenders can damn near bend with a strong gust of wind. I confronted him and he wanted to get all smart ass and totally didint understand the real reason why I asked him to get off! So Chris, I have been in the exact same situation as you. But to get upset from the "dick" comment is kinda childish. Im a firm believer in karma. . . . let it play out naturally!

I was there when it happened...and witnessed the whole thing. You had every right to be mad. Fuck that...if they had talked shit I would have definitely backed you up.

I haven't posted this yet on the internet...but I guess this is the best time. A couple of weeks ago I was hanging out with some friends in a parking lot. Some girl (who was probably drinking) was being an idiot and attempted to get on top of my friends Tahoe. He made her get off and no damage done. She then crawled up on top of my car! It made the whole roof cave in. I then yelled "Get off of my damn car!" She got off but it caused over 20+ dents. I was in shock at how bad it was. A couple of my friends were astonished at how dumb she acted...a 17 year old girl. Well...turns out she is finally paying for it...but the best part is that her father is a real asshole and tried to blame me for making the dents!

Anyways...next time we should get a group of us to park next to each other. Just a thought

didnt read the whole thread cuz im in the airport, but u shoulda said something to me chris - i would walked over there and put a dick right in her eye

people in general are just oblivious to those around them now, not just the younger generation ... you should see this airport, for example - its like people are still learning how to walk .... id be scared to see them drive because its like they dont know the right lane from the left lane

you have every right to be upset because your car as it sits now is worth more than her life ... i always get a little anxious when i see a beat-up honda fly in that lot and park next to you or anyone with a nice car, really

I saw someone posted it was kinda childish to get bad over her calling you a dick.
I dont agree.
And What I think moddy was mad at was the fact that She called him a dick when he Was Simply asking her not to lean on his car,
Just in case she did have something that could scratch the paint or dent it.
It was rude of her to call him a dick when she was in the wrong.

just my 2cents...

This probably sounds mean but I'll say it, someone's woman needs a talking to.........
Do not dis-respect another mans ride is all there is to it.

As far as the younger generation being rude and all, that is undoubtly partly because of a upbringing and partly maturity. More times then not when you are young you are a punk because you don't know better. Obviously there are exemptions and people will be more mature then others but this doesn't sound like one of those cases.

That's why my crew always rides with bikes. first off, we always park together, and secondly, we have the bikes park around us to take up enough room so people don't get any ideas.

and if they get any ideas, I just trigger my alarm... they usually get the hint.

It's not a matter of being upset by bulligerance, moreso than ignorance. If I was standing on your foot, and you asked me to move because it was causing a problem, and I said, "ok, dick, gah!", wouldn't you have the attitude of, "It's only my foot... it's my property and you're smashing it..."

I would. I view it as the same scenario. If it's not yours, don't touch it. It's not a matter of someone simple leaning on my car, it's a matter that if it gets dented (which it can very easily), that it costs money for me to make it right. People don't seem to understand that this car is as fragile as an S2000 as far as body metal is concerned, especially on the rear quarter panels. If you put weight on them, they compress. The door skins are the same deal. Front fenders are a little different, but the car is really fragile as far as dents/dings, so I plan to make sure that nothing happens unless it's absolutely unavoidable.

And i know how you feel chris. Right now I wouldnt care much is something little like a scratch or ding happend to my car, cuz its going in the body shop soon(at some pt in time), but after that, when it gets repainted, oh yeah...ill be watching it like a hawk.

Obviously I'm going to agree on this subject. I was there when they pulled in and was watching your face as the Integra started to get a bit close to yours. I woulda been right behind you if the girl had tried to get her small-ass bf to say shit, lol.

Few stories:
One of my friends wouldn't get off my car and doing shit to it so I just made him piss blood for a couple days. He learned not to do as well as a few others.
One of my lady friends decided she would sit on my roof opposite her car where her friend was sitting on the roof and I simply walked over, lifted her off my car, and set her on her own and gave her a stern warning of don't sit or lean on it ever.

Last summer before heading to school I was in my mom's classroom (she's a kindergarten teacher) and had parked right outside her back door. I just happened to see the elementary schools security officer (who had been there when I was) walk over and set a huge bag of apples on my roof while she was loading stuff into her SUV. I got up, walked out the door and asked her to please take her stuff off my car. She actually started to argue w/me about it saying it wasn't hurting anything. I told her it was my property and she just needed to move her shit off my car right then and leave. Fortunately she did, while giving me a bitchy look

Just a thought :thumbup:This is why I avoided apartments like the plague when I finally moved out of my parent's house. There's bound to be some dumb fucking idiot that things it's cool to do what? DANCE ON A FUCKING CAR!? I see young people with dents on their hoods ALL THE TIME around here (college town) so I know that some dumb fucker thought it was a good idea to get up on there and it probably wasn't even the owner of the car, just some dumb broad that doesn't understand the properties of the material on the vehicle or doesn't care about damage done to a vehicle.

Seriously, these people are so fucking retarded I just can't comprehend how they think it's a good idea to jump around on a vehicle like that and apparently the father of the girl that damaged your car was in the same situation, he didn't believe his daughter caused that damage. These are the types of people you need to build a tall, unsound, rickety wooden platform for and tell them to go crazy on it.

Man i get pissed just reading about shit like this.. lol. I always watch my car very closely and will call anyone out in a second. Reminds me i was at cracker barrel one day and as i was backing out some old dude walked right behind my car. I stopped as soon as i saw him but he proceeded to tap his fingers on my hatch and he was wearing rings!!!! I swung my door open and told him "hey man dont knock on my car like that" he said (in a pissed off voice) " i didnt hurt your damn car"!!! I semi lost it and continued by saying "look you old fuck this isnt your car so dont fucking touch it!!!!!" And i just stared at him as he walked away.. Man i was hot, i could have broke his damn hip in a second. Most people just do not car at all about other peoples property. Especially cars since to them they are just cars and nothing special.

I dont care what car im in, if I own it, I dont want ANYONE putting full body weight on it, I wouldnt mind if friends or so were leaning on it, but even if some random person was leaning on it thats disrespectful IMO. If she was in fact rubbing her jeans on your car, I would literally say "wtf are you doing, you do understand your leaning on MY car, NOT yours rubbing your jeans that can very well scratch my car" that would piss me off hardcore

There's nothing wrong with a high-mileage Supra. A bushing kit, new shocks/springs, and brakes and it's back to riding/driving like new again. It's not a big deal to get these cars back to tip-top shape, and in all honestly, if you have one that was "worn out", it's alot of fun to get it back to "as-new".

Let's see:

Bushing kit is $200.00 for front and rear
KYB's are $450.00
Springs are $220.00
Front and rear brake rotors/pads/lines/fluid are around $700.00

You can also re-dye your black carpet to "as-new" for about $40.00 and 4 hours of your time

Leather seat recovers for the front are around $500.00

So, for about ~$2,000 you can have a car that will look great on the inside, drive like a new car, and handle/stop better than it did from the factory. Yesssssssss...!!

Just to respond to the GTR comments and launch control voids the warranty just want to say that is a silly and vague comment. Using the launch control DOES NOT VOID YOUR WARRANTY!! You can use it all you want. Only when and if you break something in the drivetrain and it is proven to be caused by ABUSING the launch control feature then you may or may not void the warranty just on the drivetrain. This would also be up to Nissan and the dealer to even decide that that is the case. So stating that "launch control voids your warranty" is not true and should be elaborated more on when you say such an open and vague statement like that. Thanks

Shawn

Lol a guy a Music City Motorsports told me that on SMG M3's that it was the same thing... and that the clutch would only handle 3 or 4 launches before it had to be replaced... These were all convenient facts for him to come up with considering he had a pos silver 6-speed he was trying to sell me lol... It held about 30 launches on the stock clutch WITH the blower, and the big clutch held 50+ launches with 10 or 15 being on VHT lol...

I have said before to Wesley that if I had a car that I was dropping a lot of money to you would probably never see it because these meets have people running around eye fucking the shit out of all your stuff and touching your car. A lot more can come of it then just scratches on your car. Once people know what you have that makes it easier for them when they are breaking into it at night.

However,

http://my350z.com/forum/other-vehicles/379646-mc-please-chime-gtr-launch-control-question.html

i guess you got your own answer since your the king of Nissan

Directly from the nissan warranty office.......

Please see our current policy detail regarding your VDC (ESP) issue below. Please note however, this is still work in progress.

Tuning:
Malfunctions caused by operation performed at workshop other than NHPC or mount of parts other than Nissan genuine will not be covered by warranty.

Driving condition:
Malfunctions caused by severe driving (eg. driving at circuit) will not be covered by warranty.
Verification of travel distance with Vehicle Status Data Recorder (VSDR) and history of parts replacement may be conducted.

Special driving condition:
Launch mode needs to be set VDC off. When the customer set VDC off, then warranty is not covered as described in the Owner Manual (OM).
Customer should be checked and maintained in NHPC before and after driving racetrack to follow special racing service intervals in OM.
System failure on the vehicle during race driving on a circuit is non-warrantable. System failure on the vehicle during city driving related to having driven the vehicle on a race circuit is non-warrantable.

NB: Specific warranty booklet will be supplied to all RBUs for translation and distribution to local network

My understanding is that essentially, any car driven on track is out of warranty until re-checked by a certified NHPC which effectively re-sets the warranty.

Effectively, any time VDC OFF is engaged, the car is out of warranty while VDC OFF is engaged.

So who is the bullshitting idiot now....

AutoLuxury

Here you go also to put the car in launch control mode it requires VDC off....

http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a23/afrikanflame/WebUse/warranty.jpg

I vote ban hammer for talking shit about a TS Sponsor on another website when you know nothing about said car. I have researched and probed everything about this car you haven't. There is also a warranty agreement from nissan that every purchaser must sign to confirm that you will not modify the car and explains that using launch control will void the warranty because it disables the vdc in doing so. As the manual says driving with VDC off voids the warranty.

Thank you very much [/img]

NISSAN WILL HONOR THE WARRANTY AS LONG AS THE VDC BUTTON IS IN THE "ON" POSITION, YET WHEN IT IS "OFF", THE WARRANTY IS VOIDED. I'VE NEVER SEEN A NEW CAR WITH A WARRANTY ON/OFF BUTTON.

I understand your anger, 2 weeks ago I bought a s14 in great condition, It was pretty much my dream car because of the 97' front end and being a 5 speed. I love it to death and was trying not to brag about it but I was telling my friends to come check it out. While I was showing it to 2 of my friends, my careless friend comes over and is like; Man this car is nice! and then goes to the front and sits hard on my hood and fender, he is 6'4 and 270-280 pounds. I got so pissed and said why the **** are you sitting on my car? Just the point of how big he is and sits on my brand new car really got me upset, thankfully everything was ok tho. But I could just imagine how upset you were with your car being worth like 10x more than mine.

Just to comment on the GT-R thing.

The warranty issue with the VDC off only effects LC1. Furthermore, Nissan has to prove that the failure occurred while VDC was off. So to say that the warranty is voided, as soon as you turn VDC off, is wrong. The car is just not covered during VDC off driving. Which is really a non issue at this point.

All GT-Rs have LC2 (most 09s have been reflashed w/ LC2) and can be launched as many times as the owner wants (because VDC is left on), and still protected under warranty. I even think the 11 has a newer version, LC3. Dragging a GT-R is retarded if you ask me, car was built for circuit driving not the 1/4. Any asshole can buy a car slap FI on it and drive fast in a straight line.

The VDC off button, is for "rocking the car out of mud or snow".

In fact the only reason to keep LC1, would be for a drag car build like Hing's at SPE. I think he is still running LC1, and has a fully built transmission with ppg gears, and other shit. He ran a 9.8 last I heard, running the Greddy kit.

As for tracking the GT-R I think the 09 warranty covers it, but the 10+ warranties do not cover "circuit driving".

IMO the GT-R only needs a exhaust and wheels. That bitch is perfect.

i am 27 and ever since i was a kid i had complete respect for another persons car, i see this new generation of pussies and makes me sick. these kids have no respect and furthermore have no backbone, i mean really who the hell dances on top of a car? f-ing morons, if it not yours leave it alone I'm all for the cunt punch

This is a cyclical argument that each generation, has about the generation after them.

IMO people in general are fucking retarded. Just look at popular TV programming. When the shit hits the fan, a LOT of these folks will be caught with their pants down. Probably for the best anyhow. Round up the weaker minded humans, remove sexual organs, and put them in the HOPE camps. Start fresh, with a stronger gene pool.

I was at work the other day and this drunk guy came over and started checkin out my Electric Blue Sentra SER SPec V and then he started trying to sit on my freaking hood. I was being polite, and said "I would appreciate if you would not touch my car, and in fact did not get within 10 feet of it."

his reply? "Errm Don' Fuk with me, I don't wanna have to kill you" and I was wipin off my front fascia at this point and the asshole came around, took off my glasses and threw them on the ground and messed up my hair... WTF.

he walked off, but man... anywhere there is a mcdonalds and a liquor store with an appt complex and bus stop within a quarter mile... stay away!

But in this case the guy was old and a douchebag while also inebriated.

You sir have an iron will. I'm afraid I'm starting to lose my "niceness" to people as I get older. I am respectful, don't get me wrong but I'm starting to hate more and more people ever so easily. Part of me thinks I'm turning evil and there is another part that just thinks I'm wising up to how people really are.
