Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Got it at midnight at GameStop. So far it's whoopin some ass. Way better than MW2. Much more fun but hard as a bitch. Ain't nowhere to hide.

I'm only playing the single player campaign right now and it's surprising me cause it's an actual campaign and not just a multiplayer game with bots instead of players like the old Battlefield games.

The game is absolutely tearing my PC apart though. It's more taxing than Crysis it would seem, at least in the CPU department. Doesn't look like it matters what I have the graphics set to, there isn't much difference when changing the graphics settings. Low plays only slightly better than medium. I just put my old 8800GT in to offload some of the Physx workload and have the GTX 275 run straight graphics. Not sure if BC2 supports but I sure hope it does.

So anybody else get it or are going to get it? It's on PC, PS3, and 360.

I agree for the most part honestly, I play MW2 on both consoles and for that specific game PS3 it works better... That is the first and only game I have found that to be true on though... The rest, Xbox live works much better...

As it should because it costs $50/year whereas PS3 network is $0...

Oh yeah, the 8800GT taking over PhysX processing seemed to help. I'm running it in medium now. Still not the framerates I want but they're better than console framerates.

Played for 6 hours yesterday. Longest i've played a game in one sitting in a long time. Made up to specialist so far. The maps are great. Played nothing but rush's as of yet. Just a heads up, it can be very very frustrating at first, but then it's just plain awesome... You won't regret the purchase...

It seems that the weapons in this are far more satisfying than in older Battlefields like BF2. No more dumping whole clips just to kill one person.

I would be anticipating mods which the previous Battlefields were legendary for (heck Desert Combat for BF1942 led to the creation of BF2) but BC2 doesn't seem as easily moddable. Oh well, BC2 is so good so far that mods aren't all that necessary.

Anyone else having trouble connecting to EA Online right now? I was having a kickass round as a sniper one minute, then the next, I'm back at the menu with it saying it can't connect to EA Online. Obviously I can get on the internet, Steam works just fine (though I don't have the Steam version), but I can't login to EA Online in BC2.

i get off work at 2....so, when I get home, it seems most of the kids get on....I don't talk smack to them, but they sure as hell cuss me out with things that shouldn't come out of a kids mouth!

Oh man, I just had the best round. All I was doing was trying to increase my recon score to unlock a new rifle. So I loaded up as Recon with a Saiga semi-auto shotgun, the extra ammo specialty, the shotgun magazine extender specialty, the Colt .45, and C4.

First kills, 2 guys in a BMP. I sneak around a plant some C4. Boom. It gave me a shit ton of points for vehicle damage, vehicle destruction, 2 kills, a double kill bonus, flag defense and maybe some other shit. From there on, it was just epic streaks of shotgunning motherfuckers in the face. I earned just from combat alone, over 2500 points. Add in all the pins that included combat efficiency, combat excellence, about 5 or 6 shotgun efficiency, savior kill, base capture efficiency (or something along those lines), something to do with squad orders, probably some kind of star for some weapon, Best Squad, Ace (highest score in the round), and probably another pin or 2, I probably made OVER 9000!!!! That is both a joke and being serious. It was a stupid high score.

This shit will never happen again.

BTW, get in a squad and stay with them. Spawn with them after you die. It will make shit SOOOOO much better. My squad was also earning pretty epic scores. We stayed together and took/defended flags together. The only time I ever broke from them was to take out someone on a machine gun pinning them down.

i now own both platforms and xbl > psn but ps3 does have some sony only games that are cool as shit that is why i have both. i prefer live and only use ps3 for those few games and blue ray

Edit: If there is one thing I learned while playing this game, it's better on hardcore. Two shots from an M24 to kill a player is a requirement in a regular game, even though the damage rating according to EA/DICE is high.
