Hey everyone. i have a freind that broght a red 02 honda cbr 12000 miles on it. its pretty stock. Anyways, he had the bike for about two weeks, didnt register it yet. So no tag on it. month Later the bike start but cut off after 15 minuts, and the battrey died. thought the stator but not sure.
He kept the bike for two months. Then about a week ago he left to Virginia. He sign the title and just gave it to me. But the problem is that he purchuse the bike from a dude that never paid the tax. So in the back of the title. It gots the dude that he purchuse the bike from and then his name, then my name.
So this morning as am trying to register the bike. the lady that works there says i cant. the two original owners u have to find them, and they have to register it in there names and pay the tax then they can sell it.
Anyone know a county that i can register the bike in, without the old owners?
Again i have a clean TN title.

in for part out, lol. Did you get a bill of sale? Try Bennett Title Service somewhere down there in nashville, they can point you in the right direction. I bought a bike down there from a shady cat and Bennett produced a title with only a bill of sale.

I don't think that's true. Same thing happened to me on a straight trade with a guy, and he lived in Knoxville, and they wouldn't let me register my bike. The lady at the tags officer gave me this sheet and I had to get it filled out by the previous owner. Yeah. Right. I filled out the sheet and had the dude's signature on the title, so I just traced it over to the paper. Whenever I went back, the lady didn't even look, just glanced, made sure it had the signature, told me how much the Rutherford county wheel tax was, and sent me on my way. If I were you, I would just get that sheet, put your buddies name on it, fill it all out, and take cash to pay off the taxes, you can always say it's the previous owner's cash, they can't track that. Also, before you go back up there, LEARN SOME FUCKING ENGLISH, and they may not give you such a hard time. :bash: good luck

^^^ that's totally illegal. was the title you had signed in the buyers line like the op's?
once the title is signed on the buyers line, the listed buyer must register it or the orig owner must apply for a new title. unless done by a licensed dealer, only the listed owner can do this.
the only legal thing to do without using a title service is to find the owner listed on the title and nicely ask them to apply for a duplicate. if you can't, use Bennett title service to apply for an abandoned vehicle title.

geez.. i didn't see that much wrong with the grammar, it's just quick type.
my $.02~Just pay attention to the folks who took the time to offer good advice! Do your homework & get the title straighted out so you can ride the bitch. :)

I can read dude. sigh.........just call Bennett..they will at least point you in the right direction. They are professionals who know what they are doing when it comes to titles in the state of TN. If you have questions they will answer them, they will give you a DEFINITE plan of action, they will guarantee it, and there won't be any of this speculatory BS about what people's cousin's grandmas did when they went through situations that really aren't even relevant. Pay $50 for the service and when it works, come back to this thread and say "Hey goob thanks for the lead! I can ride my bike legally now!" Heaven forbid you have $50.00 invested in your bike. Take a step back on those frame sliders, Suomy helmet, Joe Rocket jacket, Alpine Stars boots, and all the other shit I know you are considering ordering and get your shit legal.
now im not commenting on grammar, but you shouldnt be a dick to people who have been in similar situations and are trying to help you out.
