I Need an amp, since i had to trade my last one, and i have a soundstream laying in my room. It powers on and all that but no sound. ever since i wrecked my rx8 it hasnt worked. back when i had my memphis subs, it sounded like the subs were blown when i hooked them up but when i switched to a good amp, the subs were perfect which means it was an issue with the amp. does anyone know any places around columbia/boro/franklin area that fixes amps?

its a 1050w 2 channel soundstream Xt1050.2

not sure to be honest. I had issues in the past with the rca jacks breaking because i didnt have the amp secured so it flew againt the trunk and broke the rca jacks. i switched them from the output side and worked but now im not sure. if its hooked up, the subs sound bllown. really tingy and sound like shit or wont make sound at all.

and i knwo it isnt the subs. i swapped subs and did same thing then switched amps and everything was good.

well i just took it apart and tried to look for anything out of the ordinary and it all looks good. nothing is burnt/exploded/melted/discolored/out of place so i dont know what to look at next. the rca that i soldered looks good.

lol at soundstream being offbrand. You should probably run Sony Explode instead.

There is a place in Columbia on Carmack right down from Kings car lot called something like Sounds Unlimited maybe. That is where you take your junk stuff to get it fixed, that guy has been working on audio equipment for like 40 years.

considering this amp has been used for about 6 years straight from memphis 15's to jlw7's, this "offbrand" shit does fine. Next time when i ask what amp to buy then chime in with your "namebrand" speach. i asked about fixing it, not replacing it. thanks

and thanks to everyone else for the help, radioshacks fixing it right now for 30 bux. crossover went bad...

not sure. i know the one i went to has an audio section. they have a section just for car audio and video along with an install shop. most stores dont have that.

Actually I run an xtant sub amp and a Mcintosh for mids and highs and for the crossover being bad I would also have them change out the mosfets while they were at it since the amp being a "top shelf PAWN SHOP" or bottom shelf circuit city package product was used for mono applications and should only be used for stereo wired setups
