For Sale Section Suggestions

i know i havent been on this forum and im not trying to stir anything up... but i just think you guys (the Admin and Mods) should enforce your For Sale/Market Place. Here is just a few things that you guys could do to make your sales go smoothly and keeps down on the BS in the Ads.




1. If you have the item for sale on another board, or locally, state it in your ad.

2. Please include a base price for your item. Negotiate from there. Feel free to state "OBO" (Or Best Offer) to let people know that you are willing to deal.

3. Pics, Pics, PICS! Pictures are MANDATORY with all items for sale. They are required at the time of posting and they must be of the ACTUAL item in your posession, not of "something that's just like it". Photos taken by manufacturers are NOT acceptable. The intent of this rule is to show someone exactly what they are getting should they buy it right down to your fingerprints on the item. Follow the intent or DON'T POST. If mod catches thread with no pics, it will be deleted on the spot and no questions asked. If original poster tries again and fails for not posting pics, remove there privleges... REMEMBER its a privlege NOT a right as this is FREE advertising

4. No links to Ebay or Craigs list items. If you want to sell here, post your information about the item here.

5. No interest threads or thinking about selling threads. Either your selling it or not.

6. The item must be in your possession to sell as in the seller pays you and you deliver the item to that person. No 3rd party sales. (No middle man crap.)

7. If selling a vehicle with a title, no 3rd party sales to where the buyer has to hunt down a title or signature. so must be CLEAN AND CLEAR, MUST BE IN SELLERS NAME

What exactly is the point in requiring this?

I actually enforce this whenever I see this. We do not permit trade only or make offer listings.

While I agree we need to enforce the pics rule I am not sure that level of reaction is necessary unless it is a case of a habitual offender.

I wouldnt demand clear title but would demand that if it has issues they must be disclosed in the initial post or else its deleted. No BS'ing or beating around the bush trying to hide title issues.



First off thanks for taking an interest. We do attempt to enforce the rules but sadly with the small number of active mods on here trying to catch everything. I have replied to some of your suggestions in the text above.

eh these were just some suggestions. im sure the issues hardly come up... but sometimes its nice to know what your up against till after a bad sale


1. You dont have to clarify i guess... its just nice to know that if an item is for sale on other sites (say other forums where you get rep. points for good sales, kinda like Ebay with positive or negative feedback)

3. Pics of a item for sale is nice, especially when people say "ill get pics posted later today..." then days later, still no pics.... i live 3 hours away from the Nashville area, i wouldnt mind seeing pics of something im interested in. hate to drive all the way down for crap items when some described it pourly... and its a privileage to get free ad space, so gotta enforce some how...you will get more kudos then negitivity from people constantly asking for something so simple such as pics

7. reason i state clean and clear title (i like your suggestion of disclosing the info in the OP to...) is cus i know transfering titles from state to state is a royal pain at times. id hate to see someone get screwed due to a seller not being honest at time of sale or even yet harder to get ahold of the seller after the sale
