I've got the Logitech GT Pro, or something like that. Has a sequential shifter (would have liked the step up with the clutch pedal and true shifter).

yea i played I racing for a little bit, i just got frustrated that the mx5 cup car sucked so much dick. i mean i ran a good 15 seconds faster at Barber in my 1.6 miata (real life) then the new mx5 cup car on Iracing.

but! i did help with pickup up land marks on the track, basic lines, and a general idea. once i got to barber i was blown away by the elevation changes, ive only previously ran TGPR, roebling, crow mountain hill climb, and NSS prior to barber which are all pretty flat.

gt5 prologue is just beautiful tho. im sure once they release GT5 it will have 3d parts that will look amazing.

Are you sure you're not thinking of one of the need for speed games? Or maybe mario kart? Forza is a reasonably serious simulation and drives very similar to the various gran turismo games.

Forza3 > GT5....and I was excited about gt5, bought my brothers ps3 just for this game.....and it took them HOW LONG to make this game? Interior view on only 200 or so premium cars? Give me a break (even when you do get a interior view, forza still looks better). The cars just about all sounds the same. Theres more, but i'll just keep it there. I'll try it out for a few more days, but I feel soon my ps3 with gt5 will be for sale.

To me the actual gameplay feels the same as it did in GT3 A spec. Sounds are all to similar.

I like all the stuff they added like the weather,go karts,and rally. And being able to see out the back glass of car to see the back seat in 4 door cars. Nice touch there.

I bought my PS1 (well after it was out), for the original GT. I purchased my PS2, for GT3 when it came out, as well as bought GT4... My next console purchase will hinge solely on GT5, because I honestly don't really care about shooting games that much, nor about anything else.

I've waited for GT5 for a long time, and I hope that it's worth it... I just don't know what kind of console I need to purchase. The XBOX is cheaper, but I just can't decide. Opinions? (Statix' and Chad's opinions were really similar to mine, when GT3 came out, honestly)

Did Forza ever fix the detail on the NSX and some other cars? Both Forza 1 and 2 had a horrific model of the NSX. It was embarrassing how bad the angles were off.
Having said that, 1 and 2 had some great sound modeling, great cars ( they had Ferrari, Porsche, and some Datsuns ), but needed more lifelike lighting and modeling.

I've got some seat time with Forza 2/3 and I've owned GT4 in the past. I want to have a go at GT5 before I decide though. I can say that I've enjoyed them all!

The cars in forza seem like they're floating like an arcade racer. The vintage stuff should have more bodyroll and such. I took a stock CRX into one of the events on race tires, and it cornered flat like a damn slot car.

Since all I do is play games, I will put a little more insightfull review here for you guys undecided. This is my opinion, and i'll try to be as unbiased as possible.

Forza vs GT5 pros/cons

Graphics/Detail: Going to Forza.
Why? The graphics on Forza to me are a lot more crisp and clean. GT5 has jaggys everywhere when you do have the accessibility to drive in the interior, mostly shadows. When you are forced to drive in HUD mode, or outside view, the graphics just look dull and boring, a lot of times down right blury. Ive driven in a few cars interiors, and although there are only a select few you do have this option for, the gauges and such are blury and most of the time unreadable. Forza I never had this complaint.

Sounds: Forza again
Why: Cars in GT5 either sounds similar to one another, or just to plain. I dont get the sense I am driving some powerful v12/v8 car when I am in one. I dont know if they are just to quiet or what, but the sounds are just plain. Forza however are not GREAT either. Forza has a few cars where they just use other car sound effects and tweek them a bit so they dont sound identical. Both games dont accurately make the engine/exhaust sounds the car would in real life, but Forza does this more accurately for the most part.

Driving feel: Tie
They have their own feel. Forza has a good feel, easy for beginners and feels smooth. GT5 however I think has a more diverse driving feel. All the cars I have driven DO feel different, which is more I can say about Forza. Forza all depends on drivetrain layout. MR cars feel similar to all the other MR cars. FR cars feel similar to each other etc etc. It just depends on what tires you have and how much power you are putting down. Forza tire effects are buggy too. Theres no way a 300whp car should spin as much with race tires than they do in Forza, GT5 I haven't really had a car spin out on me due to to much power. (I have not gotten to use race tires yet, nor have I used a car with over 500whp)

Difficulty: GT5 has this.
GT5 so far is a lot harder than Forza. Which is neither a good nor bad thing. Forzas AI is weak, I beat the career in the hardest difficulty with no problems. GT5 is super hard getting gold medals on license tests, and the racing in general is harder.

In my opinion I like the feel and looks of Forza better. I like the fact I can use interior view in every single car in Forza, and I like the fact the cars sound more realistic in Forza, it is in fact a simulation game.

I haven't played GT5, but I've played GT5P, but I think the jaggys in forza are FAR worse than in GT5P, everything was jaggy. Also, the gauges were pretty shitty IMO. Cars sounded a bit different in GT5P, but with Forza 3, ALL THE CARS SOUND THE EXACT SAME, even if you upgrade the exhaust or whatever. The only car in Forza that sounded different at all to me was the Mazda Furai and the R1 cars.

yeah, and my bad, it's the high speed ring (not daytona) in the turbo series in the expert races that nets you 36k you can run daytona in one of the professional races and get 17k...we used the veyron for this, since it's fast as shit and completes it pretty quick - 3 laps under 2 mins

Bought a ZR1 today, haven't done anything to it yet...
Also bought an Enzo ..fuckin 1 mil...maxed it out still doesnt touch the GTR, the R8 maxed out will hang, if not beat the GTR around the high speed ring..running 1:00:xx -59:xx with both. We're at level 20 now, still got a long way to go...my thumbs hurt

What do you guys do to make money? Is there a certain easy race you can do over and over? Im sitting on 1.4mil, but only bought about 10 or so cars and im lv19. Zr1 being one of the cars, gallardo being another

just look for races with the most cash and try to justify if it's worth the time it takes to run it over and over haha..we had 1.2 mil and bought the Enzo...fuuuck what a waste, but it's ballin, our garage is stacked right now. beat all the beginner, amateur (except the truck race, can't find a truck for sale??), professional, and only a couple left in expert...that'll build up your cash flow pretty quick.

i think we raced the high speed ring upwards of 20 times today with the GTR lol...between 2 of us...so multiply 36k by 20...over 700K. Before that it was in the professional races..the Sunday cup i think? the daytona race for 17K, we used a maxed out veyron, and completed it in 2:15 mins.

i would get the GTR asap...or the R8 and max it out. that way you're able to run through 3 laps pretty quick. it might get repetitive but i didn't mind so much after you start raking in credits

The truck I got was a silverado SS concept from the used lot....98k though, then it needed 32k in rebuilds. I did however just get a ram 1500 for beating the second to last license with all bronze.

Go in your interior view (if you can use it) and drive around on le mans where there is a bunch of trees and shadows. The dash will be invaded by blocks everywhere hahah.

Specs on your TV? I'm not dogging your setup but I think this issue could easily be explained as a function of your television.

Well, I finally picked it up last night with a friend, annnnnnnnnd, I love it. My only gripes is the fact that you pretty much need a wheel to be any good at the game, since the controller blows massive dick. And the jaggies sometimes. Everything else is amazing.

I ran it again, and had a pretty good points lead going into the last race on Tokyo 264(?), coming out of the last corner I got pit maneuvered. It was so homo. Needless to say I finished in 2nd place.....AGAIN...........FAIL
