I'm getting ready to mount a CB in the 240. A very small Cobra 19 probably. I've test-fit one, but it was Juuuuuust big enough not to fit under my radio, or in my console. I'll be wiring a 3 foot magnetic Wilson antenna to it as well but I'll be periodically taking that on and off. Any more suggestions on where I could put it?

You would get the one with the confederate flag on it...

Why do you need a CB in a 240? You gonna be on ch9 listening and looking out for skreet racing?

I might be interested in your ant if it is co phased.

cobra 19 (unless super old school model) is absolute junk.

I've got a nightwatch 29 ltd like new for 50 bucks, peaked and tuned to 18.5 watts and it kicks ass (only 20 bucks! took 5 mins). still only have 40 watt magnetic.

I am a firm believer in the use of CBs and I really think we should use them as a cummunity (Hello, convoys to meets... makes EVERYTHING much easier and more fun)

i tried to get some of the antioch people to adopt them but... well it's antioch.

I've noticed metro doesn't really use the radio much at all (when they do, on their own band, but more often cell phone). Much of their dispatching/alerts/etc is done via their digital electronics/display.

But for communication between our community, particularly in a group function (hello, letting your bro's know when there is a cop and where if you are getting a little speedy) Getting traffic reports is also nice =] I've always been able to find out when the traffic starts to clear/why the holdup.

Not sure what sort of look you are going for, but I highly recommend a higher end radio and have it peaked and tuned. Additionally, it would be a good idea to instal semi-permanant wiring/mounts and a k-40 ant is usually the most common/most reccomended whip. Having it centrally mounted is also good.

I used to route my magnetic mount through the interior to the rear passenger door with just enough cord to get to the center of my roof (looked oem from over 10 feet on my sentra) or on my trunk.

A good whip setup can make you or break you. Having one or two handheld 40 channels isn't a bad thing either for buddies.

just my 2 centcs but I have done my research and stuff

I'm thinking about getting one for the Accord. That was the next mod for the Forester until I traded it in. And yes, lot lizard sweat is caustic and will burn you.

Remember to have the SWR's checked and adjusted...or you'll burn out your finals.

I've got a Galaxy that I will never sell...built in kicker that runs a external kicker...when put on a meter, around 8,000 watts. I dead key 500 and swing 2,000 easily. Here at the house if I talk to I65 it blanks all of the monitors and tv's in the house out...blue screen. I'll let it go if you want..the Cobra has Galaxy finals and Statix mic...SWR's are set with the co-ax and antenna.
