I pulled this from a fellow bmw guy on bimmerforums, and he is a local friend. Chris owns the 1995 Dekar m3 that is at most track days.
"Interesting. I have never run with SCCA before. I guess it would be nice to actually have a log book, as it would eventually help me get a TT licence. If I'm not working I think I'm going to try to make this.

This is the earliest event I see at NSS that hasn't passed (TracksUnlimited was in Feb). Anyone else consideringing this?

Hmm. I didn't realize SCCA did this at the Speedway. I wonder what class my car would fall in for SCCA time trials. It is a TTB car with NASA.

I know this event has been going on for years.
I was thinking about trying to do this event myself, but Im sure there are plenty of hoops to jump through with scca for their time trial license.
I may just shoot them an email to see if I can get in.

Nope, probably will just run N/A. Besides, you have to have a license in order to run Time Trials. Thus you have to start in PDX, which isn't timed. After you get past PDX then it's Club Trials which is timed and you compete for fastest lap. Found that it uses the Solo Rules, so I would be in Street Mod (SM) also. Hey do you have a link to the SM rules page? I can't seem to find it. Wanted to refresh my mind on what's allowed in SM in terms of tires. Figured I would go ahead and get in on the PDX Level 1 so next time when the car is actually ready, I don't have to worry about being allowed to run in the competition.

Can't seem to find the specific requirements you have to have in order to apply for the TT Novice Permit, which you have to have in order to do Club Trial competition. For TT license you have to have at least 3 TT events. But I don't see anything like that for Novice Permit.

I have a NASA TT license. Will SCCA allow me to run in their TT? I have to see what class my car falls in with SCCA. It's a TTB car with NASA.

Ya Wynn, Im still trying to figure out classing and some other specifics too, but I got the contact info over on the scca site, and I think if we can get our crap togather fast enough, we can get in on the track trial (time trial).

If Anyone wants to do this event... This is also a (PDX or HPDE or Open Track Day) and open to all levels. They have a beginner/novice group, where you can get an instructor and other groups for more experience. Lots of track time for a small fee. definitely a deal. and Its not to late! 225. for 2 days is a Deal.
If you want in on this event e-mail: Jennifer@copperstonecreative.com
We can play with the SCCA

You should be good Wynn
7.4.2. APPLICANTS WITH PRIOR RACING EXPERIENCE
The TT Divisional Program Manager may waive all or part of the requirements for drivers with prior racing experience.
Participants with a Regional Competition license, its equivalent, or higher, may use that license and do not need to obtain a
Time Trials license. A valid Rally America license may be used in place of a TT Novice License; these drivers will retain novice
status until obtaining a TT Competition License. All participants in Track Trials (Level 3) or Hillclimb (Level 4) events must
have a current SCCA membership.

Do they need any more instructors? I'm also a certified NASA instructor. I don't know how SCCA does it, but I instruct for NASA and in return they "pay" me with track time / Time Trials.

i want to ask you NASA ppl and PDX people what keeps you away from registering for scca time trials, PDX, and hill climbs?
i think my next step is to get into NASA and go to road atlanta

I'm just not familiar with SCCA car classifications. I'd love to run TT at NSS though.

I think the problem is information. I have a NASA TT license and I have no idea how to classify my car with SCCA. I read the TT pdf and it has nothing about classification. When I click on info about the event it just takes me to an auto shop in Chattanooga. Is there a schedule out? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

I read the SCCA TT uses the Solo2 Rules/Classes.

SCCA TT uses either Autox rules or road race rules.
that being said my ITA miata, can be ran in an autox as a CSP car.
so i can run either CSP or ITA at TTs.
pretty confusing huh lol
a S2k could run STR (autox street tire) or ITR ( i think??? road racing class)
shit i found NASA's classing more confusing with points and junk and how many points my car starts with and going through the list bumps my car up class... maybe 2 if i understood the part about LSD's and if it came stock with one why should it be bumped 3 points for it? it should be included into the 14pt initial? LOL shits confusing.
where as SCCA ITA gives a list of cars for the class and then gives modifications allowed and what are forbidden.
we did a level 2 time trial at TGPR a few weekends ago which is a transponder on PDX rules. thats friggin sweet.
but i need extra seat time in my formula mazda and ITA miata. so im lookin at nasa for roadraces and TTs
