Looking for an amp to push my Boston Pros, and looking for another to push my Small Pioneer subs.. (about the same specs, except in a 2 channel)

I need it to be 150wx4, at 4ohm.

So whats good brands nowadays?

JL amps have always been good. Kicker makes a decent 4 channel too for a more budget friendly amp.

All car amps do the same thing and have very similar ratings when it comes to distortion. So what you are really choosing is cost, size, power, and reliability.

$650 huge power.

$560 huge-er power

$650 small size

$250 my choice on a budget

$225 still good

All have warranties, but the estimated life and abuse an amp can take is possible to be better with the $650 amps. As long as you don't wire them improperly then they should all work and last fine.

Just make sure your sub is either a SVC 4ohm or DVC 2ohm.

Not really worried about the sub amp, they are just cheap pioneers. I'm not looking for thunder, just something to complete the sound.

The Boston Pros on the other hand, I want a good quality amp on them. Near $500 dollar speakers need a decent amp lol.

So you have BA Pros front and rear? What ohm will the subs be when wired together?

I agree with getting a cheap amp for subs.

PS: I've had BA Pros before and I have used multiple amps on them. The most noticeable difference between amps was the actual RMS power. So I'm not convinced you can buy a better sounding amp.

My Legacy amp will blow your Pyramid amp away.

Dude, it's like the "HP/Weight Ratio" argument. Power/Dollar, they're the best out there

Rockford Fosgate, there are major differences in amps, dont believe the hype of the low end bullshit !!
Rockford makes a quality amp and makes awesome power, not some over rated or inflated numbers in power ratings.

You are correct.
They are rated at 125rms so I'm thinking a 150rms amp would be about right.

As far as the subs, I'm not sure, I havent looked at them.. I've owned them for about 4 years and they were old when I bought them. I need to pull one out of the box and check on it.

Good idea. Either meter them or get the model number and check the manufacturer support pages for specs.

Yeah, 150 is plenty. The reason to have higher power than the speaker rms is to reduce the chance of clipping at high volumes.
