It's that time again so I traded the fb that I had for a 91 GSXR 750. It's a 750 body with a 1100 cc motor that has been built but PT Racing in NC, so it's built to a 1236 cc it has slider carbs, Dyna 2000 pergrammer, it's extended 7" inches.

Could you inform me as to why certain people opt to delete a rotor/caliper from their front end? Is the 1.7lbs of weight savings worth significantly increasing your stopping distance?

I'm not sure I'm going to put the duel front brake set up back on it when I can.

Carb'ed bikes have been getting it done for years. Plus sound of carb'ed bikes sounds so good.

Laugh, I suppose. Seeing how it's not my bike/life I could care less just wanted to get a common consensus. Also something to note from personal experience and not cold fact, it only seems like squids on gsxr's are the one's who do this. No offense to the op seeing how he said he would be putting them back on as soon as he sources some.

My bored out 1100 didnt have a front brake caliper but that was due to my aftermarket PM Chicanes that required an oddball setup.

The bike is running really good I took it to crossville drag strip and got a lot of runs 12 in total the fastest time I got was a 7.779 at 90 mph. Witch I think is good for it being my first time ever drag racing a bike and only riding the bike 100 miles before.

I am surprised the trap wasnt faster. My 86 1100 with a 1340 Big Bore went 7.30s at 105 at Huntsville IIRC and I am a rookie rider.

This is also his first drag bike, taking some time to get used to the launches and such.

my 60ft sucked I had the clutch adjusted to riding so it didn't slip so well. every time I left it bogged down and I had to pop the clutch to get the rpm back up. I'm going to see about retuning it I think it's been tune 1/4 mile I'm getting all my power after 5000 so I need to launch from there I was launching from 3000 this weekend. Just playing it safe. Also Nate I'm about 2 of you in weight lol.

Ross my bike was my first bike ever. That was the only time I ever took the bike to the track. I maybe rode the bike 20 miles total. Plus traps shouldnt be affected as must by inexperience unless you are really grannying the shifts or shifting early.

traps change...all the time u cant rely on them...seen two cars run identical ET with 7 mph difference in traps it happens

60 ft times makes the low times in 1/8th mile drag. I know some one that truck runs a 6.89 and his trap speed is only 93 mph he just kills the launch.

Oh I understand that completely. A car that hooks great and geared right can run the same times as a more powerful car with less optimal gearing or traction issues. However traps do tend to be a decent indicator of power-to-weight and the traps on a specific vehicle will not vary widely with the launch. Ie: wheelspin on launch or no wheelspin will often equal similar trap speeds unless the vehicle has traction issues down the length of the track.
