Why not? That's a legitimate question. I know of no road course in Murfreesboro, but would be really interested in knowing if there was and where it is.

If there was such a thing, you could find it with google. Any how what does me being living here have anything to do with what I said. I don't live near there and have only been near there less than half a dozen times. There is NSS which has track days 15-20 mins down the road. There is a private and I mean a private track in Franklin but no one will ever see it.

Welcome playero. As has been stated, Nashville Super Speedway is the closest thing to a road course in middle TN.

DumpedDuce...Move along.

Don't worry about it. An older man owns it and no one will ever see the track. We'll you can see it on Google maps.

Its all about safety and insurance I'm sure. More than likely its a Kart track.

Actually in TN the only thing you have to be insured for is spectators. I think it's like $300k per person of coverage. TN has a specific clause in the law that gives the track owners the full right to wave damages / lawsuits to drivers and participants from liability (if the track is state licensed). The hard part would be getting the track approved. You need a 2/3 majority vote in the county legislature.

I've done a tad bit of research into it all. I found it more complicated to register a vehicle club in the state than to open a public track (not including the 2/3 vote).

EDIT:
it's $100k per person, and $300k per accident.

True, but if you were smart with it, that would be a tax write off against your profits for maintenance, so basically free. Personally, I would just lay asphalt. 3~4 "lanes" wide on a 1~2 mile loop. But yea, regardless, setup fees are the bitch with any business. I have 2 business plans on paper that are useless due to obscenely high start up fees.
