well it sounds like the rears in my ls are on their way out, bass is turned all the way down and fader has to be moved up front a few turns and it still has some distortion.. so my question is, whatre some good sets of components? ive always had infinity everything so i was debating on them, but wanted to hear some other options..

what size?
what's your price range?
I have alpine Type r 6.5s and they are fine, even in a convertible. Expect to drop $$ though.
I've always been a fan of Focal and MB Quart but you can get up in $$$ with those too.
If just going for best bang for buck, a set of pioneers with crossovers should be findable for less than 100$

says the rears are 5 1/4" but 6 1/2-3/4" work with brackets. price range, well i dont wanna spend and arm and a leg. saw some sets on crutchfield that were like 1400$ fuck that.. the 200-250$ is whatd id like to spend but if theres something better for not much more id be willing to do that also.

Rears are a waste of money. Take them out and spend the money on the fronts.

The frequencies that come out of those speakers are more directional. Your ears face the way they do for a reason. To set the proper sound stage, you'll want to place the speakers with an unimpeded path to your ears. Now will you hear speakers behind you? Sure, but to get the most bang for your buck, highs and mids up front.

That makes sense. I'm looking at getting new speakers so that helps a lot actually.

Stick with Infinity. You were on the right track already as far as bang-for-the-buck.

You may want to make sure before buying a new set. Some of those stock speakers have weird ohm loads on them and make it difficult to find a match.

You need to check out hybrid audio. The imagine series is by far the best sounding speaker for the price. Just look them up and you will understand.

The Bang-for-your-buck option that i like going with are memphis audio. i have a set of 6.5's and a set of 5.25's that i've transfered between three different cars now. about $100 dollars for a set of speakers (2) usually and they are generally available at any best buy or electronic express

I use polk audio all around my car. Not to shabby, i like them. Especially since im picky about how my music sounds. ( perfect combination of bass, treble, hi's low's.) These seem to work for me.
