2001 eclipse check engine light... help

hey guys a friend of mine has a 2001 Eclipse... he had a check engine light come on... sometimes it wont start... i ran the code and it came back as a P0335 (crankshaft position sensor malfunction).. i know the earlier years had a reputation to crank walk... i was wondering if anyone knew anything about this code... thanks for lookin...

Replace the crank sensor

4 or 6 cylinder?

crank sensor, but use a scope and check the signal

p.s. crank walk has nothing to do with the crank angle sensor
