My Supra deal fell through. Debated on looking for another MKIV but saw a 1000rwhp GS300 and fell in love.

I am a little pissed this morning. Went to take pics of the ECU and saw that it is not a J4 anymore. I did the swap on this car myself and know for a fact that I had a J4 ECU when I did the install. I am going to contact the guy that drove the car for a few months and get to the bottom of things.

Hate to say it but for now the car is no longer for sale. I am not going to lose my ass on this car. If I cannot prove the rareity of the engine type if will lower the value. Not gonna do that right now.

The type x motor is not that rare for 1. The other thing is a e5 ecu will not plug into your j4 harness. What is possible is for you to swap ecu covers, hell you can put a 28 s13ka cover on it if you wish. Having either ecu really does nothing for you either way aside from you know the engine is freasher if its a type x. The engine is no better or worse and the only difference between it is the oil pump can still suck oil from the sides in the event you get a dent right below your pickup on the pan.
The j4 ecu is also commenly more expensive to tune. All in all your better off with a 62/63/e4/e5 ecu rather than the j4/j5

It is commen to only pay $500 more for a type x swap over a redtop swap (if you paid more you got ripped). Once its been put in a car there is no more real appeal from either engine.

And now after all this, throwing a type x harness and ecu in isnt going to prove anything... The only way to prove anything is to get some numbers on the block and head, also the ignitor chip and cas, your coil packs ect. The part numbers are not all specific to it being type x, but I can promise you that most things will not be f00 anymore if they are origional equepment.

I wasnt and Im not trying to bust your balls, but the only reason I asked is because I hear too many people calling their sr with black valve cover a type x. I believe yours really is a black top, just an early model non type x blacktop. My redtop with black valve cover is being ran off a early model blacktop ecu, e5 just like yours actually.

Regardless what is in there now I do remember having a J4 ECU because I was unable to get a tune at the time for that reason. It might not have been installed on this car. I admit that I must have been mistaken. Doesn't change what I want for the car. Price is still best offer but I havent had a single one yet. As far as trades the only thing I am in search for is a GS300 98 - 04 with black leather only or of course a MKIV Supra NA AT which I dont see getting for this car. GS is more in my price range.

Remember this is Tennspeed aka brokeass central...If you list the car for about a 1/3 to 1/2 what you have invested, you MAY get some interest....Sad but true

Seen it at the track tonight, looks pretty clean. The time I seen it run was a 9.8 I believe. Got beat by the STI Still 11k is to much in my book. But good luck on the sale.

not to be an ass, but wanna see what 12k gets you?

- for 10k with traveling fees you can have a piece of history

-for 12k you can have this beast
http://zilvia.net/f/cars-sale/257820...pexi-kaaz.html

basically what im getting at is 11k for something that is 20 years old, and isnt worth the metal its made of. just because you put 16k into it doesnt mean you will get nearly any of that back. theres a reason i buy most of my parts used. so i dont spend my collage money on a car that isnt worth anything. if you had an s15 motor with 6-speed tranny i could see maybe 9k but i dont see you getting more that 6-7 for this glws. please dont think im a hugh asshole but it seems like the drift tax has come down hard on this car

So, I am finally getting sick of everyone's opinion that just wants to post something. Not one person that has complained has the money to even buy a car. I could internet search all day and find a better deal, but the point is this is what I want for it. If you have and want it good. If not shut up! I don't care if it sells or not. I love the car and plan on driving it like always. Just starting a new project and the extra cash would be nice.
