The FD probably has the same amount of money in it, that you could buy the GTR and have all the luxeries.

And the FD transmission wont break the second time you launch it and cost you $20K to fix.
Crazy they build an amazing car....and put a glass transmission in it

Transmission is fine on the track where it belongs.
Launch mode only for all the ricer fanboys who want to drag race an $80k car.
And they pretty much made the launch mode way less aggressive in the 09's to keep all the morons from breaking them at the drag strip and asking for warranty coverage.

^I have seen more stuff of people dragging the R35s than open day road racing them...Maybe the owners just havent realized their cars arent meant for the strip then my friend haha.....But in all seriousness, a regular manual tranny option would be amazing...I would take a 6 speed for $15k less than the current tranny

1st) Then Nissan shouldn't advertise that the car has AMAZING 0-60 "skills"
2nd) Not too many "fanboys" dropping 80 large on a car.....more like 10 on a used Insight.
3rd) The Nissan engineer that showed the car to Jay Leno on the Tonight Show showed Jay how to "launch" the car.......if you don't want people to do something with your product......don't go on the Tonight Show and tell everyone about what your car can do.
If you really beleive that then Nissan should completly remove the feature and slow the advertised 0-60 times down by about 3/4 of a second.
You can't have your cake and eat it too.

First off, I was just starting a bit of a silly flame war in here, since this is really just a joke thread.
Take many marketing classes? You market to your target demographic. Which in the US, is the 0-60 crowd, Road and Track, Motor Trend, you know the deal.
I have my doubts it's marketed the same way in Japan.
And the "facts" about the "glass" transmission...
They only break when you turn VDC off, which raises the stall RPM to 4500. The users manual clearly states this is not for use on dry pavement, only intended for snow, slick situations.
People were abusing this "feature" at the drag strip, breaking transmissions, and asking for warranty coverage.
The "advertised" 0-60 is 3.5 seconds, which it can handily do with VDC turned on - and the transmission will not break.
In fact, the 2010 GT-R does 0-60 in 3.3 with VDC on.
And I paid way less than $10k for my used Insight, thank you very much.
Just because I don't own a GTR doesn't mean I can't afford one, I could do it pretty easily if that's what I wanted to do... :P
Let's keep it civil, it's all for fun in here.

I'll have to find one first, anyone seen one around?
Like I said... I'd never buy one...
But let's not complain about something breaking when used in a way it wasn't meant to be.
You wouldn't whine if you tried to use your 7 to tow a boat and the transmission exploded, would you? Wasn't designed to do that.

LMAO, that's awesome. False advertising is seriously FTL.
Marketing people aren't engineers. But I think I'd make a terrible marketing person, I'd feel too bad lying about my products... LOL.
