The guy does have a big budget so the sky is the limit we just gotta support him! This sounds like the place we have been lookin for? Seriously comment em on myspace.. email em let them know you are down.
Something that sounds cool isnt always a great idea. It sounds like it'd be fun, but also sounds like alot of trouble(legal/safety). There are many reasons why things like this dont exist and I'm afraid whoever is backing it all doesnt quite understand that. Good luck to em, though
Very valid point. But i had heard he has had a few meetings with city counsel members and such. i guess all the rules and regs is on him. We just have to wait and see. There are places like this that exist thats how he got the idea, in cali and florida.
but im down.. ill be a member just for the cheap ass
dyno runs lol..

Well if he's using comments on myspace to do "market research" I'm worried for the guy...
Lol he is doing a lot more than that..just using any resource he can, Boy your the only one being negative..wouldn't you be excited something like this even has a possibility of being in your town?
How am I being negative? As a business owner who owns a chassis dyno in Nashville, I know about all of the things that are involved. Its not a toy for car kids to play with. The amount of liability involved in something like this that falls on the financial backer is far beyond what you are seeing. I dont blame you for thinking it would be cool. I'm just looking at it from a much more realistic approach.
Lol at relatively new guy calling Mayo "boy" lolz....RHD, you seem cool and I like ya but this whole idea sounds to good to be true...Hope it works out, but like Mayo has pointed out there is alot more that goes into such events than most people think. Plus, if he has bought the shit and has the site, then just put on an event. So what if 5,000 myspace kids say they will show...That doesnt mean they will. HIN tried a NightShift event here and it was a major flop. Unless he is trying to fundraise upfront then the whole "sign up on Myspace thing" is really kinda pointless.

Or do you work for some other shop or something?
the dyno might give him some competition, but mayo does raise good points. starting a business, especially one of this extent, has to have a LOT of planning. i'm sure there are things that he is doing that we do not see, so we don't have the most accurate picture of what he's doing to make it happen. like i said earlier, the concept sounds great, but the actual business plan is what will make this thing take off or not. i'm all for it if he can make it happen. just keep in mind that criticism is not always a negative thing.

lol i wasn't calling him "boy" i ment like boy oh boy ha. Yea i'm new to this site. But not new to the game. You might think because i haven't been on tennspeed my whole life i am new. If you want to read more about me you can pick up the upcoming issue of Import Tuner, you'll learn a lot more. (comes out 8/11) In the past 6 years i have worked at 4 diff shops 2 in Colorado, 1 in Maine and 1 in Cali all 4 with awd dyno's. i have PLENTY of experience! I know what it takes to run this type of business and i have seen them rise and fall. I get Mayo's point 100%. But as it has been said he is doing so much behind the scene's we can't see. He isn't using Myspace as advertisement or anything like that. he is using it to see how much interest there is in what he is trying to do, and with most people logging onto Myspace more than once a day seems like a decent idea.
Your right Mayo, a Dyno is not a toy i totally agree but i don't think that's what he trying to put out, just like im sure with your dyno customers have to be in a viewing area etc etc.
Bottom line is if there is a possibility of something like this happening in Nashville you would think everyone would be excited and jumping on it. You always hear people complaining about the closest awd dyno is miles away..
Well just because i just announced it doesn't mean he just thought of it, he has been planning since like dec or jan or something... and still is ironing everything out.

satalac and mayo are both very well correct. Regardless of his competitors or myspace cred, the business plan should be well thought out, well prepared, and financially sound. If the guy can pull it off then i am for it. Also, he needs to join the forum, and introduce himself if he wants people on here to support(if he hasnt joined already).
Edit: I think everyone here is always excited about new automotive ventures and companies in nashville.
