2009 Corvette: work in progress

So I bought this car in November of 2011. I had always wanted one , and finally found the color I wanted and a price I could live with. About two months into having it I got bored with the stock power and decided to upgrade. I ordered LG 1 7/8 headers w/of cats, LG get exhaust , and an A&A supercharger kit.












So that gave me a a tingle in the pants for a while, but as you should know that didn't last long. I went ahead and ordered a 10s psi pulley and an Alkycontrol methanol injection system. That boosted the power up another 55whp and 30wtq. I am pretty happy with the power output now and I will wait for more gains until I go built block.*

Now I have never been a big fan of narrow body corvettes. What drew me in to this color and body style was the ZR1 blue devil. So I started looking around at oem widebody kits and they were a bit steep for me at over 7k for a full widebody. For the z06 at least. So I went deal shopping. I found these oem rear panels for 1k prepped and primed. I also picked up a zr1 rear spoiler.*











fitment was excellent and I can get them on and off in under 2 hrs but that's what I expect with oem products.*

So I thought I would be happy with that bc I could fit a 345 tire for the power I have. The more I looked though I thought that widebooty corvettes look kinda odd. Like the front doesn't match. So back to the corvette classifieds. I found the front fenders for 700 shipped(3000 new price ). Yes they have cracks but nothing I couldn't fix myself. I am in aircraft maintenance and have worked in composite repair shops before. Then I got on eBay and found a z06 front bumper for 300 shipped in the same condition. That is getting in tomorrow.*





now I'm trying to decide what I want to do next with front splitter and side skirts options. I'm thinking just zr1 style with both.*




I do like this front splitter. Not sure who makes it.*

So you're making 674 hp? Nice! I love the color. Should look sick with the wide body panels and wheels.

I love these Vettes, especially packing that much power. I'd say go ZR1 style with the splitter.

yeah it was over 670whp and 590wtq. Don't remember the exact numbers.

Very nice man! Love the jetstream blue.

I am also a huge fan of the wider fenders... nice touch and will look great with some wide meats on the back.

Love the C6's... hoping to own one someday.

When they stop having head and valve train issues. For similar condition z06 I was looking at another 10 grand and 2-3gs to fix issues. I am 2800 total for the widebody with 3500 for paint. I used the extra for mods. I am looking into doing a brake swap though.

What are you looking to put on it? Any plans to autocross the car?

I just put a set of Z51 brakes on the Camaro.

Nah this is just a fun Highway car. I was looking into the z06 set up but apparently it's not worth the cost. You can buy the swap with pads and ss brake lines for 2gs. It would be nice to have better brakes for some of these curvy mountain roads I am fond of driving.

I will say... I have spoken with a few brake vendors and the corvette kits are some of the best bang for your buck, especially the Z51. I have plans to boost my built LS3, but it is strictly a street car (maybe take to track 1-2 times per year). I was told the Z51 would be fine for my needs.

Not saying something better may be out there for your purpose, just make sure you talk to some vendors and make it money well spent.

Yeah I am still researching. I may start with the interior next instead of brakes. The current one haven't been over stressed yet.
