So I got the car from a buddy not running need new glow plugs a starter and a rebuild due to just being a old worn motor. The car hadn't ran in about a year and half. I got it running halfway it runs like shit and smokes. The engine could have been rebuilt but parts are hard to find and expensive. So I had been tossing around the possible idea of engine swaps fisrt was a good ol' 2jz but the cost to get it tunned and and get all the turbo stuff wasnt really worth it imo. Next on the list was a 4BT but problem with that was the exhaust the car is was to low for a proper sized diesel exhaust another option would to be to go out of the hood with a huge short(kinda like turbo hondas) stack but I think it would kill the look of the car. So finally we are to a ls swap which has been done in a w108 and people have put ford v8's in them so a ls is possible. Its cheap plenty of power to cruise around town I still can run a small enough exhaust to keep from dragging it off and parts are everywhere. So I ordered a ls from lkq manchester should be here next week after the Holiday

First off I need to address the steering the yellow area shows that steering runs right behind the cross member right where the oil pan would sit fix for that run a front sump ls 240 oil pan which should sit in the general red area may need to trim the front of the cross member. Next would be exhaust header for the driver side the steering box sits in the green area may have to run block huggers or have some customs ones made. Motor mounts going to use stock gto block brackets because its setup similar to the benz and build off those if I get over these hurdles the rest is easy and a cake walk. I am not planning some badass drag car just reliable weekend cruiser that I know when I pull the start knob it will start and get drunk and do some burnouts

this is in a w108
