The 18RG was a great engine and is for sure beautiful. Parts are just too rare and expensive to entrust it getting rebuilt the first time without any errors. Since I want to be able to drive the car all the time, something involving less risk and better part availability is best. I built the car with aspirations for 300+ horsepower and the SR fit that bill perfectly. I will be forced to cut the firewall but that's something I'll just have to live with. Switching back to the original plan for the car seems like the right thing to do. As a last resort I've considered a LSX but that's probably not happening. Ha
Have a ton of life changes going on so it will be covered in the garage untouched for the next several months anyway. I have plenty time to figure things out n the future.
I've had a Supra itch also so it's possible this car gets sold or moved to storage for a while. Who knows!
