It's not as bad as it looks, although some things were definitely a pain in the ass. It's simple to work on compared to the 3000GT or the Z32 .

It pumps fuel, but it doesn't seem to be opening the injectors. I suspected the ECU, but I pulled the cover on it and couldn't see any obvious damage to it.

idk yet but i have 2 14b turbos witch wouldbe a upgrade on his 3000gt's stock tuboes there both in desent shape ones missing the wast gate axuator its a upgrade form the stock ones

Somewhat. The beauty of this one is that it comes with a ton of spare parts. You can upgrade the turbo by using parts from the IHI turbo on the later Thunderbird turbos.


The 14B's would indeed be a nice upgrade from the 9B's, but they have entirely different housings. It wouldn't be a simple swap.
