okay well i recently did a tune up on my car because of the bogging (spark plugs, wires, dizzy cap, rotor, etc) but i ran into one wierd problem today... as my car runs good first and 2nd gear.. when i shift to 3rd it suddenly runs like its on 3 cylinders or a spark plug came loose? but all of them are tightened and such.. and after it hits 3rd gear and bogs the rest of the gears do it 2.. (1,2,3,4,5).....


any ideas...

yeah sounds like a blown maf, does it stutter or not wanna run on start up? I would start by cleaning it with electronics cleaner and then when you start it up unplug the sensor if it changes idle or dies then its not the maf if nothing changes then its the maf. It may or may not work but this has worked for me in the passed with my spec v so just try that

worked on my car :thumbup:
i kno frogman240 had a problem with his as well
you would just be driving and the car would start cutting out/surging
replaced the maf and it was good to go

ive got a maf at the house that came off my old ka....dono what they go for so ill just say 50....if thats way too high or something i apologize but text me around 330 if you want it dan and we can work something out.

shouldnt be your maf. it it was fucked then your motor wont rev past 2500 rpm's. is 4th and 5th the same way?

yep someone stole mine and i couldnt rev past 2.5

I had some of the same issues bu mine was very weird it would run fine some times not run at all at others sometimes it would rev almost like it was in neutral and other times it wouldn't rev past 2500 RPM. how does your car act at idle or in the upper gears? I know mine had similar things wrong i got a MAF from 90kacoupe and it fixed all my problems and i haven't had any since :mrgreen: good luck man

check your timing, always a possibility. you said the car revs up fine but once you drive it drives like you have a miss?
