So I have a feeling I'm going to get flamed but have some questions...

I and I'm sure many here have allergies.
well along with that, the seasons changing and the fact that
the air inside your home is 5-100 times worse than the outdoors.

So, I have been sick the past couple days, but aside from that
24/7 Id rather breathe more clean air when I'm inside.

I'v been looking for an Air purifier for my room.

Been kinda looking around at a few stores, Target, Home depot etc....
I am kinda set on a Honeywell air Purifier, More specifically the
Germ Reducing True Hepa Air Purifier

But, I was wondering if anyone here is using an Air Purifier and if they would
take some time to discuss which they have, why and how they like it.

I Don't want to spend more than about $120.... Because It's coming out of my own pocket. lol
This is what I have been looking at and am interested in.

Its $119 at my local Home depot,

It has a "permanent" Filter which is wash-able and you can vacuum. Which means no expencive filters.
# ir cleaner incorporates patented airflow technology with sound-reducing features
# Filter features 30-percent quieter high speed operation
# Air filter includes true HEPA filter for 99.97-percent minimum effectiveness at capturing airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns
# Captures particles including dust, mold spores, pollen, cat dander and tobacco smoke
# Soft-touch electronic controls with three speeds and indicator lights
# Intelli-check electronic filter change indicator
# Surround seal technology helps prevent incoming air from leaking around filter

Im reading bad reviews and good, but it doesnt seem like anything in this price range
is really "that" great. But either way I know itll make a difference. Maybe not the
"Perfect" air that some expect but itll work pretty good and make a difference I think.

I have 3 of that exact product in our house. One in each of the kids rooms and one in our bedroom. You wouldn't believe the amount of dust that they pick up. One of the nice things about that system, is all you need to do is clean the black pre filter out. It doesn't need to have the main filter replaced. It really cut down on the dusting the in rooms and one of the nice "side" affects is the fan noise kills a lot of surround noise for the kids and it helps them sleep better.

One of the other things that we did soon after my wife and I got married was to install the hypo allergenic covers on the pillows and mattress. My wife would always wake up with allergies in the morning and these covers removed this problem immediately.

Something like this: http://www.target.com/Masterguard-Pillow-Protector/dp/B0002XQWAC/sr=1-3/qid=1225996449/ref=sr_1_3/189-8664271-9374854?ie=UTF8&index=target&field-original-keywords=hypo%20allergenic&rh=k%3Ahypoallergenic&page=1

Don't go cheap. The ones I bought for us I bought at a hypo allergenic store. The kids have them as well and for them, one of the nice things is they are waterproof which protects the Fluffo mattresses.

Wow, so you have that exact model? This is something I was wanting to hear.
Did you have a weird smell for the first month? This is something some are saying.
I keep a fan on in my room so the noise doesn't bother me "That" much. Is it really
loud or not too bad?

Using the quality air filters for your house also makes a big difference and changing them out regularly.

We have that exact model except the ones we have use a digital display instead of what the picture shows. The fan noise isn't bad. The ones we have use a 3 speed fan which is nice as well as a program feature that would allow them to come on and go off at certain times. We don't use this feature because the kids hit the buttons and change them. The noise is a little louder than a fan but about the same as the humiefiers that I have to use in the winter to keep my skin from drying out.

I think we have had them about 3 yrs or so. The smell is from the filter itself which is only because the filter is new. It doesn't smell at all anymore.

From what I've read, alot of them really don't do much. I used to have one similar to that. Didn't really help much at all. I'm one of those people that gets allergies extremely bad, wake up with sore throats, etc.

What helped me most at night was a humidifier. During the cold months when your heat kicks on alot at night and dries the air out.
