We will clarify this rule soon after discussion. I didn't realize it was a rule. We're trying to clean up the classifieds with the mandatory photos, etc. Also, trying to make things more clear and such for all users.

Not sure how the no bumping rule came into play or the reasoning behind it, but we're discussing it now. I'll clarify the reasoning or change the rule soon, either, or.
I think its a good rule... Cause all New/Unread Thread's are highlighted in red for both new & active user's so it will be seen.
eh.

still a bad rule
i think its a good rule - if someone wants to buy it, they will look for it ....

if its be inactive and still not sold for a few days, then the occasional bump is fine ... but ive seen you and others bump twice in one day, and several times per week ... which is ridiculous

also, "" or ":cocktail: " should not count as a valid reply to any thread ... might as well just say "post count = +1" *cough*Zac*cough*
one/two bumps on same thread should be allowed.... anything over two bumps a day should be deleted... I think that sounds pretty fair
Well i dont do it for post count or nothing.

And if i have done it in the same day its because i dont get on here until late like 1 am then ill bump it like 8 or 9 that same night..

i think its harmless..

and ya im sticking to it

what if they just have money to spend and see something they want??

i always look at the top threads first..
IMO this rule is completely retarded. No bumping your own for sale threads? WTF? Who would be the genius that came up with that one? I can understand putting a limit on bumps per day or something of that sort but, not allowing it all together?

totally agree, some threads need bumped at times, when a thread gets pushed to the 2nd page or further or there are updates to it then it needs to be bumped, yeah you could just edit it, but without bumping it whos gonna know anything changed? so yeah, i really dont like the rule either
on another note, if wanting to clean up or organize the classifieds then i would suggest doing like other forums do with dividing the vehicle WTS/WTB adds and the automotive parts WTS/WTB and then just Misc. WTS/WTB adds, in my opinion that would keep down clutter and would probably lead to less bumps anyway

I have figured out from being on a few threads new people will not use the search button. Go on Nico and just read a few threads you can almost find someone asking about some swap and what is needed when they have most things just stickeyed in areas.
comming from a car sales man lol....I look for deals, wether is be a specific car or a random car....therefore I will not go thru searching for every import car
The classified rules were to help keep things more descriptive, easier to sort, etc. Our goal was to make things easier to sort so bumping wouldn't be quite as necessary. We're reviewing the bump rule right now, look for an update real soon. Most likely, as long as there isn't excessive bumping, I don't see it as being a problem.

egfanatic, good suggestion, thanks.

To clarify, we're not trying to bombard you all with rules and make it hard to post. What we're getting at is making the classifieds easy to browse, and make it easier for those looking for parts to find them, and for those selling them to get the point across, etc.
Revised the rules. PLEASE TAG YOUR THREADS WITH THE PROPER TITLE! The classifieds section is not yet busy enough to split it.
I believe a bump every few days to keep your thread on the first page is acceptable.
werd.

thanks guys..

i do agree with this, i think that bumbing should be allowed cause i have often seen where someone will post something and no one will reply then it is bumped like the next day or something and it gets like 3 replies of interest
however too many bumps is stupid, like where someone bumps like every hour, this is just post whoring and useless
