catalytic converters=money?

I'm sure you could sell it...seeing it as people are sawing them off and stealing them off of parked cars.

yeah people steal them for the platinum inside of them

It's not just platinum, there's like 3 or 4 other types of rare metals in there...

they are still worth cash but most places that recycle them are now holding them for 2 weeks to check numbers and make sure they arnt stolen. So u u wont get any mony for it until it comes back clean.

Shrums in Greenbrier will give you 125 for a Nissan 240 cat. and since s14s have 2 guess what?
I went back in June so unless this has started recently idk. I know there were people stealing them and selling so that might be why they hold them.

Junkyard's can't/shouldn't sell them to you. Its illegal to sell them used. That is why they get recycled.

shrums wont give you 275 bucks....it all depends on what type and how big the cat is....ive seen people only get like 75 bucks for a cat.

every time i post a damn car for parts on craigslist, the same dude emails or calls askin for the catylitic converter- i now put the
phase "no catylitic converts or recycleable parts here" in all my parts car ads..
if you want cash quicker- put it on craigslist- there's people who spend all day every day lookin for scrap converters and other recycleable parts/metals- you might not get what you could by taking it somewhere yourself- but if you don't know where to go, maybe this is better........and you won't have to wait.
be warned - SOME these folks that do this type of work to feed their family will try to bulldog you.

smaller the car motor-smaller the converter=less than you'd expect. what car is it off of?

was trying to say not to expect big bucks- yeah something instead of lettin it sit is way better than nothin- but

crx= that converter will only bring $30-50 bucks depending on the condition- they check 'em and if the core's not in good shape, they'll probably won't even take it.


:roll: ok simpleton, i'll explain- bulldog=bully=BOLD/BIG BALLS. that's just a term i use for dumbass bullies- these guys that bother me won't hardly take 'no' for an answer when they call. they call/email asking,,,,, no DEMANDING- after reading that i don't sell mine- then i have to unleash the alter ego on 'em :wink:

last year- a dude came to look at parts on a dsm- not buying anything,he left...then we caught him out by the cars at 2am the next morning with a hacksaw and hand torch- f'n looser or desparate dad- who knows... but i bet he'll never step foot in this area again.

fyi- don't take 'em to Dickson/Vandlree(sp?)- you'll get robbed or at best- waste your gas and leave totally pissed.
