The gear cones (surface of the gear where the synchro rides on) is scuffed to make the synchro grab it better when it is engaged by the slider. Allows for a quicker shift and prolongs the life of the gear and slider.

ok. i might be interest in one of the d16z6 trans. just tryen to go part at a time for my mini me build u. i got the cx trans right now and its geared way to long

the A9 tranny is the only one you have thats hydro, correct?

They're all hydro except the DOHC ZC trans.
