How do i get rid of the annoying whining sound coming from my speakers when i turn my car on? i have tried routing it away from power cables and stuff, but it still sounds horrid, and it gets louder with vehicle speed/rpms

BTW the speakers are components - Infinity Kapa Perfect 6.1
and the Amp is a Diesel 1000w 2 channel

alternator whine.... 2 most often causes.. 1) BAD ground 2) power wires are to close to the signal wires aka RCA's or speaker wire

I had the same problem, ended up being my amp.. Switch to another one and see if it fixes it.

take the cheap way first and install a small capacitor on the power wire going to the back of the head unit. its a (check valve). all that will do is allow the dc current to flow threw it and not the ac current thats what makes the whine. my radio does it im just to lazy to fix it. that should fix your problem. and if not a capacitor is like 4 bucks from radio shack. try that first.
cheapest way = borrow amp from friend. Install. Listen. :)

does it with the diesel and the soundstream so i know its not that
You need to go to an audio shop and ask for a RCA Noise Filter Silencer.

This will give you a good idea of what you should get.

Oh yeah FYI, they won't always cost that much.... that's a Monster brand. Most should be like $15.
