Had A Scare Tonight...

so my father (65) nearly died tonight...

he had a massive sugar low, measuring 1.9, and wouldn't wake up...

so i called 911 and told them to send a paramedic, came within 2 minutes (quite impressed by that)...

i gave him a glucose shot just before they came in my driveway, and we was turning pale white...

the paramedics got him to wake up, took his blood pressure (also, very low), gave him some other shots and threw him on a stretcher and took him in an ambulance...they said he didn't know the day of the week, the time of day, but he did know it was August 2008...

he's now on his way to the hospital to get checked out...

they said i did the right thing to give him the shot, it was probably what got him to wake the fuck up...

they said he'd be just fine and should be home tomorrow. god i can't stop shaking...

Low Blood sugar is something you always need to pay attention to. I dated a girl who was diabetic and if you let it slip and forget to take a shot or to not eat or to eat it can really pwn the rest of your dar.

Glad he is ok, You did do good with the shot.
And you knew he needed it by taking his levels, which is also a good thing.
Def glad he is ok,

Its amazing what can happen when a diabetic goes too low.
And with a shot of D50 within 1-2 minutes there back and just confused saying,
"Um why am I on my way to the hospital.?"

Glad he is ok!
