I sometimes spray the gasket with something like brake parts cleaner and then scrape it with a razor

anyone?
what exactly are you needing checked out, surface for flatness? valve seats???? let me know I can help
both..

i can check it out for ya give me a call. 615-627-8633
ive always done this myself when i rebuilt a couple heads. just pull the valvetrain, sit all the valves together and spin them one at a time. you'll see if a valves bent. look on the seat off the valves for any irregularities, if none are presented, put your valvetrain back in and use some lapping compound and spin them with a lapping tool for a good while. pull the valve back off the seat, wipe the valve and the seat off with a rag. if both surfaces are gray in color, you have a seated valve.
