so i found an 87 corolla gts that im trying to buy, but the motor isnt hitting on the 3rd cylinder.
compression is fine, no smoke, and plugs, wires and dizzy have been replaced.
i am assuming that it just needs a valve job.
how hard would it be to change out the valves for somebody whos never done it before?
or if you have other suggestions, feel free to post them.

You have to pull the head and cam(s). And its a matter of holding the valve in it's closed position, compressing the spring, and removing the retainer. Once you do that, the valve should come right out of the head.
