What are ya'lls opinions on hood pins? I am thinking about putting some on my car since my friend gave me a pair and my hood has about 3/4"-1" up and down play while going down the road. (My latch has went to hell-barely releases and it's adjusted properly)

Rice or not? Install or not?

It youre running a stock hood then i would buy a new latch and just fix the problem. I hate hood pics. I had some break on my old BMW and the hood flew up. I couldnt get the company to cover the damage their shitty little cast hood pins caused to my car.

But, it's more than just the latch it's also the release mechanism and the metal bracket that runs across the radiator support.. It is wagon specific part and good luck finding wagon parts..

I hate the look of hood pins. I had them on my car before I got a new hood and I hated them; however, my hood never flew up because of them lol. So if your latch is done, I would. I would rather mess with hood pins than have my hood fly up

If it's needed - do it.

I know on a lot of Subarus, you had to run Hood Pins if you switched to a Carbon Fiber Hood. The latches weren't meant for a lightweight hood, and when enough wind got under them, the latch itself would just rip clear and boom, your windshield was done.
