I know it's been quite a while since I have talked to you guys lately, but just wanted to touch base with you and see how things are going.
Things are good here, doing daily missions in the small town of Al Suwayrah, a town about the size of Cookeville, with the population comprable to Clarksville, about 130,000 strong. Things are relatively quiet here, not much going on. The IA (Iraqi Army) seem to have this place on lock, because even since the start of the war in 2003, there really hasn't been THAT much going on anyways.
I am doing well, I get to talk to the wife about every other day or so. The rain season (that will last about 4-5 months) started today with an absoloute HORRENDOUS downpour. I'm still soaked. Although my spirits are fairly high right now, I am still coping with the loss of my father back in May, and being seperated form my family and friends over here. But things are looking up, I hope to be coming home sometime around the middle to the end of January for mid-tour R&R leave... so that's something to look forward to.
If you read this, I hope everything is ok with you and yours as it is with me and mine. Also, type up a reply, and let me know how you guys are doing... those of you that have my mailing address, go ahead and drop me (however small) a letter or something, I'd like to hear from you.
Until I hear or see you guys again, take care, and God Bless.
