(Ill keep adding to this list as i think of stuff that i have bought and as i buy more parts of course)
When i bought it i knew i had to replace the passenger side turbo. So i got my hands on some decent turbos to run until i was ready to swap my bigger set up. Unfortunatly i had it on the road for about 2 weeks and it developed a knock. I researched it and heard it might be a timing belt tensioner. So i put a new timing belt and tensioner in it hoping it would help. It wasnt the tensioner so i took it to a guy who is great with high HP cars and he told me it was a rod bearing. So i let him take it to swap the turbos and fix the rod bearing. Its been there ever since.
This past weekend i picked up a TT motor in nashville and tore it down. I had a deal worked out with a guy that if i went and got the motor and removed the top end i could have the botom end. So now i have a usable crank and rod bearings. I was looking to spend about 600 dollars for a machined crank and oversized bearings. So that will save some cash.
To be totally honest the motor that i tore down to salvage the bottom end out of was the first time i had ever gone into a motor. I have dont the little things to cars but that was the first time i really got into a motor. Im not gonna lie i had a blast doin it all too. I thought it was a hell of a lot harder and i was afraid to try it. Now i wish i could have taken the time myself to do the rod bearing and the turbo swap. The downside is that ill be spending about 3500 after i get it back. The upside is that i will have a boosted car that i know isnt going to develop a problem any time soon. Which i think is extremely valuble. Of course next time i actually do have a problem ill sure as hell be doing it myself.
So yea thats where i am at now. The block that i got from the deal is going to be the base of my build. So the sky is the limit from here. Ill update as things progress.
