Hey guys, Just wondering about the projectors off say a 94ish ES300.
Do they have a good cut off? If I was able to pick up a set of headlights for FREE
would they be worth using as a retro fit for some HID? Or would I be better off just
selling them?

This is them, (Not the same exact set but same type I'm talking about)

I was just wondering.

Thanks

the cutoff is good ... but they are Halogen projectors ... why go through the trouble of a retrofit and not get HID projectors?
unless youre a halogen fan, i wouldnt spend the money or time

also, make sure its the right year ... not all ES300s had projectors, for example the one you were thinking about trading your Eclipse for did not

I know, but this one is local and I've seen them in person.
Was just wondering how the cutoff is.
Thx

In dis bitch.

As they've both told you, those are Halogen projectors and not good for an HID retro-fit, making them virtually worthless if you were to get those in the eclipse.
Bang-for-buck: I would look into some Acura TSX projectors. They're cheap, yet have one of the best out-put/cut-off combos out there. Plus they're small in size and can be made to fit into almost any headlight. My friend used them for a '97 Corolla and they worked perfectly

Also look on the forums at hidplanet.com . That were I got all my info when I did my retrofit back in the day. They have all the information you'll need to a retro and you can also pick a set of tsx's from them. I think they color mod all there projectors though

HIDplanet.com/forums is great. You'll have to join up in order to see anything though.

Yea, alot of them do color-modding (placing washers on the projectors' mounts to give them a clearer, more straight edged cut-off which tends to be a bluish purple when seen on a wall) but not all. It looks really nice overall though if you do it.
