Doubt it would stop parties at all lol, but I agree with lowering to 18.

Quoted from my HIGH SCHOOL US History teacher a few days ago: "I don't encourage drinking for younger people, but If you're old enough to die for your country, you're old enough to have a drink!"

I think that pretty much explains it, If you are old enough to die for your country, you should have no age requirements on anything.
dont rly bother me i drink anyways.. parents used to let me drink with them so its not rly a big thing :)
^
same here...im only 17 but i drink, it wont stop me. plus I think it wouldnt stop the highschool parties...noone does it just because we cant...comming from personal experiances.

agreed....

most ppl that are under the age of 21 know ppl that are of age...

if they think it will slow down parties... i say give it a try... i think there would be twice as many parties than before though... lol
I think there will be twice as many parties at first, but then it will die down. Either way I couldn't really care. I'm all for it, but I have plenty of people to call if I ever need to get a hold of something
thats why i volunteered for germany.......i was drinking in uniform at 18
wouldn't this just highly encourage even younger people to start drinking? i.e 14-17?
I could care less since i dont drink anyways
Going to school with kids that have just turned 18 or are about too, I say raise the age limit if some of us want to live past 35!!
The drinking age used to be 18 in many states. I agree with lowering it because then kids would be able to slowly progress into it. Also, it wouldn't be as hard to get it and so secretive which would take the fun out of it for many. Hell, even the rest of the world is pretty much all 18 or younger.

If you can die for country...you should be able to have a beer. Period

how would that help slowly progressing into drinking?
I agree and think that parties will start to die down.

My thinking or theory is that at first the drinking will be bad and partying will
go on really good for about probably a month, if not less, maybe more who knows.
Everyone will start thinking that its not that great and since they can do it all the time
they will get bored with it. I know I would.

It used to be 18...and we didn't have as much of a problem back then. It is so exclusive now that many kids just go and binge drink and die. If it were lower kids wouldn't have any problem getting it and would be likely to drink but not to the point of death.

It make take a generation or two to really start seeing progression...but it will happen.
if they lower the drinking age they'll cut funds on our roads. which means.
we can get fucked up all night long and drink till we drop, but we can't race since our roads are fcked up.
i pick racing over drinking anyday.
just my 2 cents
^^

Both are dumb, but more accidents involve drinking and driving than racing really.
Would be funny to see everyone starting to race instead of that.
But dumb

You want to street race? GTFO and take it to the track before you hit an innocent person.

I think it was more that kids were going and binge drinking on weekends, or something like that, is why they were considering it. I listen to talk radio every once in a while, and I heard about it there, but since I don't drink I didn't really pay that much attention.
