i'm making this thread to show everyone that it's easier to get into drifting than you might think. if it looks like something you can have fun with then by all means get to events. if you wanna try it out to be cool don't bother. drifting doesn't make you cool. in fact drifting makes almost everyone think you're an idiot.
less than a week after i got the car
it came with the wheels, the rustoleum paint job, springs and AGXs, r32 vlsd, nismo motor mounts, and nismo trans mount.
first drift event
still has stock clutch and a completely stock motor, and vlsd.
from my second event
the front wheels is actually stopped because i'm left foot braking.
only thing changed since the first event is the "brown wire mod".
because i had to
bling bling.
third event
i sold my front end and was supposed to pick up my new silvia front while down in atlanta for that event
the rear wheels are from an s12. i don't recommend these wheels to anyone. they use a shank style lug nut. part of the wheel broke and it broke a wheel stud on the way home.
finally got my silvia front
came with a K-Style front bumper, side skirts, and rear skirts. also the car now has megan racing street coilovers. this was taken in august of 06. no problems with my coilovers since then.
this is like my fith of sixth event of the year
my favorite look for the car to date. still running a stock ka, stock clutch, and vlsd. i only wish i had my new wheels and side skirts on at this time.
like my 12th event of the year
got a carbon fiber hood from a friend for a great price. this was dec of 06. nothing new to the car, just focused on keeping up with maitenence and paying for tires and entry fees.
in february of 07 i was on my way to a dgtrials private day when
i got sandwiched in between 2 semi trucks on 285. the truck that caused the accident rolled back into me and pushed me into the truck behind me.
"under construction" june of 07
it took 2 and half months to get insurance money from the truck that caused the accident. i ended up going back to pop ups because i decided i liked that look better. pignose front with stock lip. wheels are 17x8 +6 rays payton place. finally got around to fixing the K-style side skirts and put them on. i also got some power slot rotors, hawk pads, cool aero mirrors, and a cat back exhaust.
interior shot.
mooneyes steering wheel. nismo shift knob. the carbon fibre panel is made from my old hood. temp gauges on 240s are notoriously bad so i got one that i can trust, it's an autometer.
memphis motorsports park june 8th 07
this event was a nontandem comp. single runs were judged against other drivers single runs in a tandem style bracket. i got first place, andrew who is on the forum he used to have an ae86 got second, and my buddy with the now graffitied s14 got third.
import alliance meet 07
car was painted by me in a homemade booth with a gun. it's really crappy but at least the car is all one color.
elite summer nationals august(i think) 07
i got 7th place at this event. still on a stock KA and stock clutch.
this is the last event in ATL of 07
first event on 17s because i finally got some new tires and some spares to ride home on. 17s gave me alot more feel.
i blew my headgasket some time after that event. i went to the NOPI qualifier at the NSS with a blown head gasket. i had some fun but i was really there to support my buddy struka. he got his NOPI liscence that day. the car now has different wheels and no vinyl on it. i'm probably not going to as many events this year because we will be focusing on the NOPI series.
