Those cars would be pretty rare in Japan now with the laws they have on older cars. That's rockin.

X2 Laws there are very strict...and people here complain about MARTA. We have it very easy here.

They have laws about how old the car can be...How many miles can be on the motor I mean everything all the way to inspection outside and the underside of the car to name a few... hell they even DYNO the car right before the inspection is complete.

The Sha'ken.

It's a taxed inspection procedure that requires you to maintain your car. It's paid every 2 years and gets more and more expensive the older your car gets. It's why there are so few older cars in Japan now.

It's another reason why you see front clips of RBs and SRs with less than 60K miles because people will start to get rid of them around the 40K mark.

Can it still not be over 286hp or w/e or was that an older law. Like they have have mods though?
MODS in JAPAN are known as ( KAI ) if the car is ever modified it is listed as for example BCNR 34 KAI is on the paperwork and title. As far as the limit on HP I am not very sure .

The 280ps agreement was just a gentlemen's agreement between the Japanese automakers, not really a law, just something they held to.

No it's not followed anymore, especially with the advent of the GTR and top end models that the Japanese automakers are producing.

I believe they called it quits in 2003 or so.

Either way is still cool to see these cars at work...I mean the fines are even worst then the Auto makers law.

Impound the car
Lose your drivers license
10,000 dollar fine ( 976,000 JPY ) Give or take do to the fact the jap. yen exchange rates keep changing
and other penalties
