i totally agree, the reason i did my old hatch was because after i got the thing put back together it was about 6 different colors so i just rattle canned it for the time being cause i couldnt afford to put it in the body shop then.

very true, i dont like it, i think it came from the mini trucker "under contruction" phase... i dont like it either, some do it to try to get that "hotrod" black look but dont realize that rattle can flat black will never turn out like that, lol.

Cause people are silly. Only time you should really ever use primer is to cover body work. Priming your whole car is just a waste of time and money unless youve taken the whole car down to bare metal.

It's the same as other owners (99% of the time its honda drivers who are into the "scene") who buy a replica bodykit and then can't afford to paint it and leave it white or blue or green or red, or whatever color their car isn't. Absolute trash. They then try to make it cool. It's the same for people who have hubs and take off their hub cap where it's basically all black.

And I'm willing to be that there are atleast 50 active members on here who fit the description above; and try to play it off.

well on one of my ol drift cars. It had rough paint but i still kinda wanted it to be presentable. So I primered the whole thing flat black.(which some people do as an actaully paint job) . If I were ever to hit a wall or hit somethin it was'nt a grand down the drain it was a 3 dollar can of primer. To fix it but I say to each his own really. plue id rather have a primered car then a bumble bee yellow anyday

so basically we all have primer cars with cheap body kits and we cant afford paint and we ride around on wheels with no hubcaps?

My eclipse is flay black! Personally I like it. But I will eventually get it painted. I have it like that now because I'm in the process or chaning the body kit. And until I get the 97 to 99 conversion or the buddy club its going to stay flat black. I also like it flat black like someone said, because if there's a scratch its a 3$ fix. Also if my body cracks the whole paint job isn't fkd up! But for mine being canned it looks good! The more you wash it and repaint it the better it comes out :)

its total personal preference. Some people do it to cover faded or peeling paint, some do it cuz the stock color sucks and some people do it for their crews. I answer your question with a question
why paint your car a candy or pearl color? I like the flat colors they are subtle and they do their job while making a statement. Me personally am going to paint my car in a flat pearl brandywine
but like Delsoltuner said to each their own
