So I was at work today and had a former co-worker that works at a local car lot that he has a 1989 300zx that he will sell me for $1800 so after I finish my shift head over there and look at it. all that I could see that's wrong with it was that it needed power steering and seats need re-upholstered and he showed me the replacement power steering that he purchased and just needs installing. it had a single turbo etc..

should I go for it? or wait? like I need a car for a dd & project. the paint everything is straight..

If you lookin for a DD i would not go for a turbo Z31 but for a project if thats what you like then go for it. you could get a NA Z32 (more hp than a turbo Z31) for a few hundred more and they are damn sexy

well whats the milage you are lookin a 20 year old factory turbo car if the turbo has not been replaced or rebuilt then it will need it soon. probably beat on since it is turbo so if it has 100k it would be a hard 100k most likely

its up to you but for the money you could buy a better, faster car that would be way more reliable. if you want a good DD try honda or toyota IMO. i love Nissans to death, i have owned 3 in 3 years, and i drive a girly white Accord daily because it was cheap and will take me anywhere i need unlike my nissans which i could not trust to town and back

Man i hated on Hondas too but i love my little accord booked for 7k and got it for 3.5k because aof a scratch down the door its a 98 with every option a 4cyl one can have and i love 35mpg. my Nissan got low 20's high teens in MPGs. but i would give my Honda up in a heartbeat over my brokedown Nissan. Nissan= FTMFW

you dont need a fast DD but the Z31 is slow even in turbo form. i mean a NA Z32 has 222chp i it would not chirp the fuckin tires in wet weather, my KA 240sx outran one and its slow as fuck. a turbo Z31 only makes 200chp. A honda Civic would be faster

I tried to do something a little close to this...my supra was a $500 and it was an okay dd for like a week then i sold it for double what I paid..just cleaned it up a little...so resale may be an option...? i dont know

I'm not looking for "quick" just looking to have a car because I'm about to get rid of my only one.. and This NISSAN came up and was gonna see if you guys thought It would be a good idea/ price..

I'm not worried about being "Quick" for now I just want a good looking car I'm 98% set on it being a nissan

whatever you feel man, if you want it get it, doesnt matter what we think. We are just advising. I think i made a good investment to drive it for a week and sell it. I only sold it really because this SC came along and I had to have it. Im sure I could have gotten more than what I did for it, but I needed a quick sell. maybe not. I dont know. The guy that bought it well...he brought his "mechanic" and didnt find anything wrong...so i knew neither one of them were very intellegent. the clutch was slippin like hell and he couldnt tell...and cost+labor for the clutch was enought to total the car...lol
