what does it mean when a person says they can unlock a phone? I know this sounds stupid I just want to know. it is like they unlock it and you can put it on any type of service like taking an iphone and unlocking it and using it on verizon....can u do that?

you cant use an iphone on verizon, even if it is unlocked. at&t uses a different technology than verizon... you can use an unlocked iphone on tmobile and internationally, but not on alltel, verizon, sprint, or cricket.

I sell verizon, and this is one of the most asked questions...

Real reason you can't use an iPhone for verizon, I have one myself. Btw AT&T FTMFL!! but its because Verizon doesn't use SIM cards.
