I may sale my car soon, because i'm wanting to get a truck. I'm hoping to get an s10 2.2 4 cylinder automatic. My question is...I want 20's on it. How much will that hurt gas mileage? And how much would a cold air intake on an s10 help gas mileage?

Help is very appreciated.
Thanks!

Yeah, i would get a 4.3, but they only get like 17 mpg around town. I thought I might could get around 22mpg with the 2.2. And, yeah the 2.2 is SLOW to start with, 20's won't help.

haha

Would a Flowmaster help with gas mileage? I don't know much about cars mechanically. But, i think exhaust is suppose to help with gas mileage.

s-dimes look killer on 20s i would go 4.3 as well, a buddy of mine had a 4 banger and rolled 20s and stared havin trany problems and im from arkansas theres lots of hills there, the 4.3 trany can hold lot better on 20s you can bolt a 350 strait to a trany that came off a 4.3 so yeah....

it really ant the horse power that helps you its the tork and the 2.2 is going to haft to stugle any ways as far as DD exspecly with 20"s what it wont be any problem with the 4.3 and in the rezuly youll haft to run the piss out of ur 2.2 when you can have the 4.3 and probly end up giting close if not better gas mileg

Yeah, I understand what you are saying. I may end up just keeping my honda and de-ricing it abit. If i keep it i'm planning on putting a carbon fiber hood on, and hopefully lower it a little with coilovers.

I have a beat-to-hell, bone stock 1994 S-10 long-bed with a 4.3 that has 190k miles on it, that will get 22-23 mpg highway, if you do the speed limit.

Do the speed limit, roll away and slowly accelerate from stops and take care of basic maintenance, and you wil get over 20mpg out of a 4.3 in a S-10.
