Has anyone used their lenses and if so are they as good as everyone says, I thinking of get the 70-300 for my D-60

It all depends.

I have a Tamron 28-75 f2.8, and its pretty similar to the 17-50, just different focal length. Both are -excellent- lenses. Some of their zooms leave a little to be desired, though.

I think it depends on the lens itself.

The Tamron 17-50 f2.8 or 28-75 f2.8 will take a photo as sharp as any lens twice its cost. Other Tamron lenses have not blown me away to the extent of those two lenses.

The only thing I wish the 28-75 had was a little better focus speed.
