damn sucks bro but thats the risk u take when u drive a lowerd car G/L with geting back together
thats really shitty to see...
was it making any funny noises before it happened?
no it never made any noises at all, thats what i dont understand. But that real bad wreck i had several months ago i think may have weaken it or something. I dont know do they just break? i have no idea about that stuff never messed with it. And also it looks like part of the axle is still in the transmission... will it just pull out?
G
dood im sorry that has to blow

i hope your day gets better
that is really strange... i didnt know it was possible... the axle may be a pain in the ass to get out of the tranny. sometimes its easy.
i think there may be some kind of clip that holds it in.
i have a lower control arm that should be good if you want it. it didnt come off of an SI, but i dont know if there is a difference or not.
my car is making a strange humming noise on the same side... kinda scares me now.

axle break because of stress and old age not just for no reason and yes a wreck in the past can weaken an axle to it's breaking point.

also the bit of axle still in the trans will come out like a normal axle just use a pry bar.

also that really suck hope you can get it fix.
yea i guess its just old age and the wreck that has pushed it this far... the car jus rolled over to 100,000 miles so i figured something would go out but damn not this... :( but oh well its done happened now so i guess the car will set there for a little while, till i can get all the parts in a fix it. how much would you take for the lower control arm projectcivic?
G
maybe 60-100 dollars
if it the 1995 one its 60
G

word
no more than 50. pretty much gas and ill help you put it on if youd like.
Looks like the lower ball joint popped out, I have broke axles and the wheel never flexed back and smacked the fender the front knuckle should be secure, if your ball joint popped out it could snap the axle like that no problem.

Damn that does suck, but at least you have a bad ass neon to drive :D
your axle didn't break

your control arm broke and pulled your axle out, tearing the boot, that sucks though. if the axle had been the cause it wouldn't have any bearing on wheel position. ball joints breaking does the same thing
Or whoever took the ball joint out did not put a new cotter pin in and a 3 cent part is going to cost you a few hundred.
That sucks man, atleast you weren't on the road just yet.
