lol bring on the "I told you so's"

its only cosmetic thankfully, but still pretty lame. oh well, this is VERY minor compared to what ive seen happen in situations like the one that caused this, so im not that worried about it. drove the rest of the event just fine with the fender and bumper removed. had an awesome time and qualified 7th out of 15 drivers! got knocked out in my first battle sadly to the 2nd place winner. motivated to make at least the final 4 for the next round in memphis!

also as you can see I need to get my seat to mount a bit lower so my head is not right next to the halo bar. should be a fun one to figure out. lol

well ever since the last event ive pretty much been jamming on painting my cage so its done for yet another event this weekend in memphis! this shit sucked and I would not recommend doing it. with that said, it came out AWESOME! I used dupli color perfect match rattle can and it laid down super smooth and clean. very happy with the finnish. The color I used is a cadillac silver from the early 2000's apparently. shit looks great and I love it!

first I hit the whole thing with 300 grit to get the surface rust off. after that I went over it one more time with 600 grit. then used some self etching primer.

then 3 coats of base and 4 coats of clear later and its done!

for someone who sucks at painting this seriously came out good.

also picked up another fender.

and put in my purple crows now that the finally showed up

still have a few small things to fix and then its off to memphis for TNSOD round 5!! Im gunning for a top for or better finnish so I actually bought new tires for the first time ever to drift on.. should be interesting. will report back after the weekend is over.

Memphis strikes again! last year I blew out the clutch pretty bad and only got to drive half the day.... well, this year the trend continues and the axle lets go on my first tandem pass. really lame since I got brand new tires for the event and both practice sessions I was feeling GOOOOOD. oh well. thus is racing right? throwing a new axle in the car and fixing some more minor issues for the final round of the Tennessee State of drift grassroots competition. REALLY hoping to do well since its a home track just down the street. we shall see. the event is in November so I got time to get the car to 100%

at least I got one good action shot from the weekend haha

also you guys can deal with my giant ass pictures.

Well a little over a week ago we had the final round of the Tennessee State Of Drift grassroots competition at The fairgrounds. Ended up snagging a 3rd place podium finish! it was an awesome day to say the least! the week before I had a stainless 3" exhaust made for the car and I picked it up the day before the event. it sounded and looked amazing, but on my 4th practice run I initiated too hard for the still damp and cold track, looped out and slammed into the wall with the rear of the car. unfortunately the tip of the exhaust was sticking past the rear bumper by about 1" and it bent, and folded everything up to the turbo. luckily though the turbo itself was not damaged, so after a few zip ties to keep it from dragging on the ground, I was good to go for the rest of the day. still sucks that my racing beat downpipe and one day old exhaust got trashed, but hey that's racing right?

The scrape on the drivers side was on purpose shortly after because I was mad for hitting the wall haha

And while at the event a good friend of mine came out to shoot some video. next thing I know I mic'ed up and answering questions he had. turned out to be a really nice piece I think.

Offseason is here, and I have a lot of plans for the car so updates should be more regular for a few months as long as my budget doesn't get screwed!

Long time no update. you guys dont really care about a nice ruined street car turned drift turd, so Ill keep it short.

It has a V mount and a hydro now...

upon initial testing it seems to do its job GREAT! Previous setup I would see 220~240 water temps after just a few laps. not good. This is after 10 hot laps in a row in 80* weather.

Highest temp I saw all day was 215. SOO happy with how its working now!
