To make a long story short, I ended up scratching the hell out of my headlights this past weekend. Do any of you guys have any tips on how to get them out? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :mrgreen:

scuffs? or scratches? Buffing them should help alot if they are just scuffs

Thanks for the advice guys. Unfortunately, this is way out of the realm of plastx. I'll try buffing them if I can get my hands on a power buffer.

Exactly. Also get some good 3m cutting compound and then apply a nice polish afterwards and then a coat of wax to protect.

I have found using metal polish, with the buffer works the best. Then to take all the metal polish off use some sort of tooth paste with peroxide in it to clean them off then just rinse with water.

i dont know who that guy is, but thats what i charge. polycarbonate has a 5-7 mil thick layer that serves as uv protection. this layer is the source of the problem with headlight discoloration/oxidizing and should be removed if the headlights are dull or faded. i plan on sanding the headlights down to 400 grit and then bringing them back up to a full shine, including sealing them with klasse sealant and then a coat of wax for added protection. needless to say, i take my time to do things right to ensure a successful job and a satisfied customer.

Isnt that hard to do. I would save that cash and do it yourself. I used mag wheel polish on my integra head lights. worked like a charm
