so its about time to replace the brakes on my car ... between the warped rotors and one of the pads beginning to squeak, i figure i just need to bite the bullet and pay for some new ones ... but im sick of getting whatever cheap junk local shops have put on in the past, so i figure ill just go ahead and get Brembo blanks from TireRack (or wherever) and not quite sure what pads to get

since the car is just a daily driver, that might see some SCCA events whenever i finish up on the suspension adjustments ... what do you guys who know brakes pretty well recommend?

i figure either Hawk or EBC pads, since most people seem to favor those two - and ive heard good things about both complimenting Brembo blanks ... but idk what exactly to get - whats the best for my wallet and the best for my car?

any other suggestions or tips would be great

i like using the cheapo "prostop" or whatever the generic from poop boys is. i like them because you don't have to wait for them to warm up to work good, whcih is good while autoxing. and for me they never really faded much.

I have Hawk HPS pads and Brembo Blanks. Pretty good feeling from them. Never gotten a chance to see if they fade since I never track my car. Definitely an improvement over stock.

I second Brembo blanks and Hawk HPS pads. That's what I'm running, and have run on several vehicles.

Also in most cases, NAPA blanks are hard to beat for bang for the buck.
