Writing a report...need help

799 Views 12 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  92vxeg
Ok guys, so I'm writing a story on the future of electric vehicles. There aren't many people in Charlotte that I could get to comment on...so I've come to you guys. If you don't want to answer a question...then don't reply. But, if you feel you have some knowledge of the area and post up an appropriate response then you might make it into my paper :D

If you respond...keep it in good grammar and please include your name.

What is the cost of operating an electric vechicle (overall)?

Do electric vehicles pollute?

Are electric vehicles safe?

Thanks guys if you take the time to answer these questions. It would mean a lot to me.

I'm not real sure about any of this. I wish I could help, I know a little bout electric fork lifts but I don't know if thats the same as a car.
Well I dont know a lot but the new Chevy Volt that is coming out can only go 40 miles before it needs a 6 hr recharge.

They are expensive to fix and you have to have a qualified mechanic because of the high amount of voltage they have and can cause serious injury if not death.

I think the battery cell for the Honda Insights are a couple of grand.

The government does offer a tax credit for owning them but it doesnt offset the cost of buying/upkeep on one.

"Although they don't directly pollute the environment, most of our electricity is generated from burning coal which can be harmful to the atmosphere. Fuck shit cunt ass *** bitch"

-Sam Lachance (mintygood)
I would say that last part of Sam's quote applies directly...for no apparent reason of course
They are freaking expensive
You should be sure to mention that the plant that builds the Toyota Prius, is devoid of any wildlife for the surrounding 3-4 miles, and the groundwater is undrinkable, due to the pollution that comes from dealing with the batteries and handling of Toyota's "Green Solution".

The batteries for these cars are incredibly toxic, and will present a real problem once they are expelled from the vehicle and thrown away/stored for recycling, etc...
What Chris said and that my car and almost any other car will produce less polution in it's life time, including manufacturing process, than a hybrid car and or electric car because of the process of making the batteries....I mean I am sure I am super close to knowing 100% of what I am talking about
Thanks for the help guys...just turned the project in today.

you better have used my entire quote.

would be some shit to wreck it and break something open and cause the car to be a electrified heap of metal trapping you in the car getting fried like an electric chair
