Will I have to pay taxes again? I've never understood how Tennessee gets away with collecting sakes taxes every time a vehicle is sold.

Every state does that.

I'm from AZ, you only pay sales tax on the initial purchase from the dealer, never person to person transactions.

This is why it has always baffled me that TN gets a cut every time a vehicle changes hands......forever.

Complete the trade and register it in Arizona. Problem solved.

I mean.....I do still have a valid AZ license and my parents are visiting next month.......hrmn.......

They don't have an emissions requirement in AZ?

Only if you lived within city limits where I was. So no, I never had to get emission tested.
